I have a question about my computer somehow I lost the e that launches my internet explorer from the bar at the bottom of the screen I have tried to look for it under the help button but I don't know what that bar is called thanks Kim

I believe what you are looking for is the "quick launch toolbar". (for the rest of this note, I'm going to assume you are running Windows XP - if not, let us know). Here's a quick try to help you out - if none of this works, post back with some more details.

Two possible problems - first, if the whole toolbar is gone, right click on any black space on that stripe at the bottom of your screen. You'll see toolbars as one of the options that pop up. Go under toolbars and check the quick launch toolbar.

If the toolbar is still there, just that the Explorer icon is gone, the easiest way to get it back is to go under your Start menu and find another Explorer option. Click on that, and while holding down the mouse, drag it to the quick launch area.

As I said, if none of this helps, post back with lots of details and people will hopefully be able to help more.

before you go to the start menu and find another icon, right-click on your toolbar and click on toolbars> and check the Quick Launch toolbar. That should bring back the quick launch. If it's still missing, then go to the start menu.

no I am running ME

Try the suggestions, it should be similar. We just recently upgraded DH's computer from ME, or I'd be able to give you exactly what to do. :guilty:

no the toolbar is there just the e is gone and I can not drag it down it wont let me any other suggestions please

Is it possible that it is not gone and it is hidden? If you click next to the divider bar, do more icons show up? It might still be there, just out of order.

Have you tried dragging an IE icon into the Quick Launch folder instead of directly onto the toolbar?

Right-click on the Quick Launch toolbar and then choose Open Folder. Drag the IE icon into the folder.

Or, once you have the Quick Launch folder open, create a new shortcut to IE:
Right click in the folder, choose New, then choose Shortcut. In the dialog box that comes up, type:
C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe
