If you do a system restore, do you lose all passwords and such that you have saved since that date?
Thanks.

If you do a full system restore you lose EVERYTHING....it will be the same as the first time you opened it from the box. If you restore to an earlier point, like a day or 2 earlier because of something you accidentially did, then you will keep the things.

A full system restore gets rid of everything. But if you restore to an earlier point *I recomend three days before you noticed the problem* then you won't loose it. and you can also undo a restoration to an earlier point.

So, if I restore it to the first day it came, then it would be just like it is fresh out of the box?

Correct!

Two different things! Restoring to an earlier point is reversable and you won't actually lose anything. If you do a complete system restore it takes the computer back to its boxed state....you will have no programs other than what the initial disks put on, no internet conection, no email addresses, no favorites list.
