Computer Help Needed

For about a week now, I have not had internet (I have DSL).

I have tried using Internet Explorer and Netscape, but both just say "page cannot be displayed". I checked the connections and those are working.

I have been on the phone three times with tech support. They only page I can see if their gateway page. They said it was an issue with my modem and sent someone out.

He says that it's not a problem with the modem or line and I should call tech support. He said it could be an issue with my firewall and he removed it, but that didn't help (I was not there, DH was). Then, he says he doesn't know much about computers, so he can't help further. :crazy:

I need to call when I get home, but I have spent a couple of hours talking to tech support and they have no idea what the issue is. I don't want to spend another hour on the phone with them, if someone here can help.
