I recently finally got myself an iphone and today I downloaded a really cool app that will help with a lot of things, but most importantly at the moment it will help with my disney planning!
It is a file sharing app called Olive Toast (there is a free version or an unlimited space version for £3.99) which basically allows you to put documents from your PC onto your iphone. So what I am going to do is put all my planning info into one word doc and put that on my phone. Then I use Ridemax for my daily tourng plans, so for each day I will copy and paste the Ridemax plan into word, then put that file onto my iphone. So when I am in the parks all my daily ride plans and park maps (I doenloaded the WDW park map apps too) will be in one place on my iphone.
For a compulsive planner such as myself I thought this would be very useful, and is actually quite cool!!
I hope this might help some other iphone users too! Sorry if this isn't new news to folks, I did a search but couldn't find it mentioned anywhere else.

Anything that helps with the planning and makes life a little easier sounds good to me.
My wife has the i-Touch and the app that she has downloaded that will help us out the most is the Tipulator. As far as I can tell (as I haven't looked at it in any great detail tbh) you put in the figures and it works out your share of the bill, including the tax and tip.
Should help avoid a few headaches whilst over there. ;)

Another thing I noticed today was that the update of the park maps now has a calendar at the top where you can choose the date and it tells you the park opening hours, parade/show times EMH schedule etc. I thought this was a useful addition.

Thanks for your help Karen I now have this set up :goodvibes:thumbsup2

Sadly the passporter worksheets that I had filled out only copy the template, rather than the details :confused3

But there are still plenty of items I can copy :)

Thanks for the info, I have a iphone and this seems like a great idea to save me a little room in my passporter.

Come on. You know you want it :lmao:;)

Sounds really good Danuak and Reid - what make/model of iphone have you got? Sounds great for disney, and i usually take loads of stuff with me, so would be great to load it onto one of these instead.

I downloaded the park map and Disney Dining apps too.

My question is - can I use these in the USA without being charged £££££s for using my phone abroad? Also, can I use the map on my iphone over there without cost, or is it best for us to just take our tomtom sat nav and stick with that?

Sorry for the dumb questions and thanks for the advice about olive toast!

You can use the park map apps no problem as they don't connect to the the internet. As for satnav we took out tomtom last year and it worked really well. The cost for using your GPS on your iphone would be $$$$ because of the data roaming charge.

Karenpowley - I have the white 16gb 3g iphone, the 2nd generation one that came out last year. My DH has the same but in black (I had to get the white one so we would not pick oneanothers phones up!!)

I've the 8Gb 3g in black. My classic ipod is fairly full so I still use that for music :)

From the apps store. Just put Walt Disney World into the search, you will see the WDW park maps, Disneyland park maps and the WDW dining app.

The parks are a separate download for each park :)
I think from a quick glance at Urbanspoon that it needs to be on-line and hence would cost ££££ while abroad :)

Karen, on your recommendation I am going to download Olive Toast when I get home. How easy is it to add the documents to it? Can you simply drag and drop them from your computer?

Yes, you just drag and drop them into the 2nd window which will appear on your screen, it is very easy to use!!
