Compresion tights question

And the compression socks??
Do most folks don them post-race only??
My "very close" veins are an issue.....

No - I think most actually wear them during the race. I saw some that wore them post race but most of the CW-X stuff I saw was worn during and after the race. If you can go to a local runner Expo in your area to talk to the reps, I would recommend it. The stores in Atlanta don't seem nearly as knowledgeable, nor do they have the inventory. I had one try to talk me into a large pair of Compression Tights when I am clearly in the Small Size area - they seemed more interested in selling the stuff than selling you the right stuff. Coach was right on with that advice! :)

I am a huge fan of zappos! Free shipping both ways! Tremendous customer service with no hassles.
Good to know, I will look at them. Thanks a lot marathonmommy!

I will say that I never experienced getting too warm in them and in fact, when I took my first break at the TTC, I was so cold apparently that I couldn't feel my butt to know if I had pulled them up the right way! I had to check in the mirror on the way out! :). I really believe that these suckers are as essential as the right running shoes.
Oh my goodness, that's hysterical about having to look in the mirror!:rotfl2: You've got me sold on the CW-x. Thanks for answering my questions and for your input.
I am 5'6" and weigh 127 pounds. The chart says a small, so I think that's the size I will go with.

I have the black with blue accents cw-x tights. I call them my "blueberry muffin top" pants because they are not very flattering but they are very effective! They have excellent knee support (it's in the design - similar to taping) and great compression.

Mine are the insulated kind --- I have ran in them outside when it was less than 10 degrees and didnt get cold (although I tend to "run hot" , when its below 20 I do get cold) but the cw-x insulated tights keep me warm. These tights are great! I got them for about $30 less than retail on Zappos.com.

Too funny about the "blueberry muffin top". I looked at those tights. They would probably be a good choice for me living in Northern WI. Another vote for Zappo's. Thanks for your input.

CW-x Stabilyx tights are ordered. :woohoo: Got the best price at Amazon.

Are the Stabilyx preferable to the Perform X for distance running? I looked at the site and got the impression that the Stabilyx were not necessarily designed for runners. Any thoughts from those who have either/both? thanks

I have the Stabilyx and they are great for running. I had no issues running the WDW Marathon in them. In fact, I think it made the experience a lot better! :)
