Complicated ressie; CRO was confused...

Hoping some CRO experts can help me here.

Have a complicated ressie for December and when I called CRO to make it, the CM seemed confused and not sure of what to do. So, 45 minutes later, I have 3 reservations.

This is what I'm trying to do:

Stay Dec 6-8 on AP in a 1BR and Dec 9-13 on military rate in the same 1BR. Then, I need the adjoining lockoff from Dec 8-11 on the AP rate.

So, she made me 3 reservations, whereas when I first asked CRO about this a month ago, they said "no problem, we can put in for a lockogg and just turn it into a 2 BR for 3 days and you won't have to check out and check in" She said they could just change the rate at the front desk to the military rate for the 9-13th, for the whole unit. (The AP and military rate for a studio are the same)

I'm trying to avoid having to check out and check back in and possibly not have the studio be the one adjoining. Any advice?

I don't think that CRO can guarantee what goes on at the front desk. As far as checking in and out goes, you will have to go to the desk and do a key change each time, but 99.9% of the time they let you stay in the same room. You need to mention it on your initial checkin so they can block that room for your entire stay.
This kind of thing is done all the time and they are used to doing it so you shouldn't have any problems-the only one "could" be getting the lock off room if they need it for other purposes and can't connect you. Again, just request (smile/plead) to have that room when you initially check in. Have fun!!:)

I think the person who made the three reservations was correct. I'm assuming all three are in your name? You need different reservations for a change in rate which you are doing for the one bedroom unit. So that's two separate reservations. Then you need a third reservation for the lockoff unit that you requested be the one next to you.

Now, there is a possibility that the lockoff until wo't be the one next to you. But when you check in, make sure you mention that you requested the until to be next to yours. That should already be in the system but don't take the chance that it's not.

For the two rates, you will have to check out and then back in again. It's pretty simple, especially if you use the express check out. On the morning of the switch, just go to the front desk and check back in. About 99.9999% of the time you will stay in the same unit.

Now that you have your reservations, it won't hurt to call a couple of time between now and your trip and make sure all the requests are in the system. A final call about three days before your trip and a mention at check in and you are all set.

You check into a one bedroom on Dec 6 - AP rate.
You check into a two bedroom on Dec 8 - AP rate.
You check into a two bedroom on Dec 9 - Military Rate.
You check into a one bedroom on Dec 11 - Military Rate.

Sounds like you check in and out four times.

When you check in the first time, have them check to see if you are blocked into the same room for the next reservation. Also make sure the one bedroom is a lock off with the studio vacant on Dec 8-11.

I certainly hope you are not doing the DDP because that is going to be even more screwed up.

What resort, I truly do not think paying guests, as in nonDVC members, can book lock offs.

it is possible you are going to be able to stay in the same one bedroom, but you will have to go to the Front Desk and get new keys.

But when you get a two bedroom, you are going to get a dedicated 2 bedroom unless you are staying at the Boardwalk.

Whatever you do, DO NOT call back and check on your request or anything else with CRO! The only thing that can do is possibly make it an even more complicated situation. Each person you speak with will increase the chances of a mistake being made. You already have 3 confirmations for 3 rooms on the dates you need. Just wait until you get there and the front desk can handle everything. Phoned request will be almost meaningless since it is such a complicated reservation. It's always better to wait and talk in person. There are numerous stories on these boards of people who are sorry they continued to call back because their reservations ended up in a big mess.
