Hi - Just phoned UK site and didn't seem to have a particularly knowledgeable man on the phone and just wanted to know from you guys whether there is a way around the system or if there is no point ringing again to ask someone else!!:thumbsup2

I understand that I will have to have 2 reservations (and 2 deposits!;)) as I want to do a split stay at wdw. But I was also considering doing the DDP for our Poly part of the stay, but understand from the WDW man that you have to have a minimum stay of 5 nights.

Again, not a problem we can always do 7 at BC rather than 8 and increase poly from 4 to 5 nights, but.....

.... the poly would be our second hotel and the WDW man says I must have park tickets but that I can't add these to my BC reservation.:confused3:lmao:

So, he says the only way round this would be to do the Poly first with the DDP and then switch to BC and continue to use our Poly KTTW cards to access the park tickets. Is this really the only way to do it???:confused3

We definitely want to end our WDW stay at the poly so this wouldn't work, but it doesn't feel very flexible to me - so is there anyway around this weird ruling??:thumbsup2

Did he give a reason? It seems kind of strange as the Poly is the place you're planning to stay for less time. I would call back and ask to speak to someone else.

When would you be visiting the parks? Would you do any Dinsey parks whilst at the BC? I am sure the Poly rickets for park entry would only be valid during your stay at the Poly reagrdless of if went there first or second.

Claire ;)

The reason is that to take the DDP you have to buy park tickets (it's probably 7 days on the Uk disney site)
So if your staying at BC first and buy tickets then this is a single reservation nothing to do with the Poly, so when you check into the Poly to get the dining you need to buy tickets.
If you were doing DP at the BC and then onto the Poly it wouldn't be an issue as you can still use the park tickets for the length of the pass you've bought, it's just because you must buy tickets to purchase dining.

Am I making sense :confused3

he right as you have to get tickets to get the ddp.so if no plan on first part then no ticket required.to get the ddp you have to get a package ie room and tickets.his way the best option to do it

Hi - thanks everyone for your replies!!:lovestruc

Just checking I am finally grasping this!!:lmao:, am I right in saying that I could.....

Stay at the Poly for 5 nights first, and pay for a 14 day park ticket and DDP. Then make a seperate reservation for the Beach Club (without buying DDP or tickets), but still use my old KTTW card for the remaining park days whilst I am at the Beach Club??:confused3:thumbsup2

I have been fiddling around with the itinerary and prices and it seems if I do the Poly first, I can add the dining plan for the five nights and still be £230 better off (almost like free food and money back compared to the original plan of poly second!!)- what a result!!:yay::yay:

Please tell me this is a viable plan!!:worship::rotfl:

Yes, that's right.

It's great that it's ended up saving you money to switch them around :thumbsup2

Amy - It is brilliant that you're going to save money doing it that way. And I was going to say - I know you're travelling with small kids, so it might be nice to do the Poly first, as you'll probably want to spend more time in MK.

I did a similar thing when my kids were 2 and 5, except WL for a week then BC for a week and it worked out great.

Also - you were considering whether to make an ADR for your first night. If you think the little ones could stay awake, you could make a Chef Mickey ADR for 6 or 6.30pm - which would be brilliant for your first night. Or if you're not so sure - what about Kona Cafe - it's a nice place to eat but not to big of an issue if your youngest falls asleep and misses it.

thanks ever so much for your help!!:lovestruc

Yes my whole itinerary has now been turned upside down :upsidedow but the more I think about it the more it makes sense - we are also planning to go to the MVMCP at the beginning of the holiday, so now we will just have a quick monorail trip back to the hotel afterwards - ideal!!:santa:

Perhaps Chef Mickey would be a good choice, they will have something to distract them from sleep!! - great idea!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2
