Ok - if anyone can help, I know it's my DIS Family!

DS21 just got accepted in the DCP (Disney College Program)!!! #happydance

So, that means that we have to figure out how to get the most out of our passes - we had an 8-day October trip planned already, so moving to an AP is a no-brainer. I mean, we will 'have' to go down another time (or 2 or 3!) to check on him!

I won a charity auction for 4 1-day Park Hopper (PH) tickets in February - they have to be used within 2 years of winning. The original plan was just to upgrade the PHs to 8-day tickets in October.

So, after much ado, my question is: can we still use our PHs on the first day to get into the Parks then upgrade to APs using DS's new Cast Member discount (10% I'm told)? 4 APs with the 10% discount saves us $300+.

I guess this would be similar to a parent using DS/DDs earned free pass for a day then using that to upgrade - does anyone have experience with that?

Thanks in advance!

If your one-day PH tickets are comp tickets, they probably aren't upgradeable to anything.

CM-discounted tickets and APs are only sold through Company D and the Cast Admissions phone line.

My passes are just regular PHs - I just thought it would be a similar type arrangement.

There was just a thread on this on the theme parks board.

Donated auction tickets are not upgradable and you should have gotten paperwork on them that says so.

No tickets can be upgraded for cast discount tickets because they have to be purchased by the cast member at the "D Store". There are also only so many of each ticket type your son will be able to buy per a year.

I left the paper work (and tickets) at work - but do not remember seeing that. That stinks if you are correct!

ps - I did search before starting a new topic, but didn't see that thread - I'll manually search that thread to see if I can find it

I just read this on the parents page!!! :)

lol - I knew if I posted in both places that I would get the correct answer! (Even if it wasn't the answer I was hoping for!)

At least the money went to a great cause & we will make sure that the PHs get put to good use somehow!

One idea is to give them to your son. You can't actually get into the parks until your self admission pass. The self admission pass is new since I was a CP/Seasonal so not sure how long it takes to mail them. If it is the same as the standard main gate it is about 2 weeks.

edit to clarify the new names and system for CP and seasonal self admission passes.
