There will be four of us going to Disney and we are all staying in one room on one ressie at the GF. Me and my DF are flying out of the Akron/Canton airport on Airtran and are arriving at the Orlando airport at 9:30 AM. My mother and her mother are flying out of the Buffalo airport on Southwest and are arriving at the Orlando airport at 10:30 AM.

1. Can this be done with ME or does everyone need to fly out of the same airport.

2. If it can be done do you think I could tak the ME by myself and have my DF wait for our mothers and then the three of them take another ME at a later time. (I was hoping to go and check in and get that all out of the way so when they arrive at the GF everything will be done)

Any comments or answers would be greatly appriciated.

(We don't need to worry about this going home because we will be spending the last two days of our vacation visiting my sister in FL.)

Thanks

I would call DME and ask them. There shouldn't be a problem with leaving from different airports. Your tags will be different from theirs but that shouldn't cause any problems. Don't know about waiting for someone to come in and leaving with them. I am sure DME can tell you.

My Dh has a different airline and arrival time than the rest of us and we'll be able to use ME.

This is my situation too. There are four of us in the same room, with the same reservation, but 3 of us are flying Delta and 1 is flying United. We are leaving from the same airport, but the same principle should apply. Just to complicate matters, 1 person is leaving 3 days before the rest of us.

I talked to a very nice CM yesterday who said that you can only get 1 set of tags per reservation and that the tags should be put on all the luggage for both flights. How you do this if you are leaving from different parts of the country I don't know! She said that they are only using the airline resevation information to estimate how many buses to have at the airport, and it doesn’t matter if they don’t know the itinerary of every guest. As long as the tags are on the luggage when it arrives, it can be routed to the correct resort and room. To take ME you just show up at the desk in the airport and give them your resort information.

Given what I was told today, I'm not sure this is true, (although I really respect safetymom's knowledge).

My question is:

Are the Disney tags supposed to take the place of the airlines regular tags? or are they just for the CM's at the airport to find the luggage and send it to the right resort?

It seems to me they must be *in addition* to the luggage tags provided by the airline when you check in, especially if your party is traveling on two different airlines or from different airports.

The nice (and honest) CM also said that ME was "very fluid" at this time and to check back before we left for changes. :confused3

The tags are in addition to the airline tags. Your luggage is going to the same resort. I'm not sure how it would work if you had multiple rooms under the same reservation numbers.

We have six of us arriving at AKL on Sunday. DW, DD and I will be arriving on Southwest, my sister and her family arriving by car. The ME people were nice to work with and got it straightened out. To make it more interesting, Sister's family is only staying 3 days and when they leave my family is transferring to POFQ. We have all our tags and everything for the three of us using ME although it took two mailings for them to get it all together.

If they can get us figured out, I don't see why they would have problems in your situation :earsboy:
