WARNING

Now this is the part of my TR that turns ugly.

:furious: THIS WAS THE WORST DINING EXPERIENCE WE HAVE EVER HAD AT DISNEY :furious: Actually, I think this was the worst experience we have ever had on ANY vacation. Our server was Okie. We did not know this until 25 minutes into the dinner, you know when she finally decided to come to our table. We had never been here before, so we didn’t know if we were supposed to wait to give our drink orders or if we should get up and help ourselves. When Okie finally showed up her first sentence to us was ‘good thing that there is water on the table’. Well, maybe it was us, maybe we were just tired and cranky, but I found that to be really rude. I understand that most of the waitstaff had large tables to deal with. But as the night progressed, we saw that Okie only had 2 families. ours and a party of about 15. Yes 15 is alot of people, but it was a buffet, all she needed to get were drinks, and we saw a few waitresses, actually bringing drinks to thier guests. Okie was no where to be found.
20 minutes after she finally took our drink order she brought them out. Now most families were already done eating. We had pretty much just gotten our food. Another person walked by saying something about wearing the pins. Pins???? What Pins???? Oh, there on the table was a pin for each of us. Apparently that was our admission into the Special Illuminations viewing area. Thanks Okie for telling us that one. Now Okie decided to show up and demand our room keys so she can charge the dining plan for dinner. She actually said’ give me you room keys, I want them now instead of after you eat’ Ok, just give her them, maybe we will actually see the milk for the kids..........25 minutes go by... no Okie. Now we need those back so we can go see Illuminations, oh and I don’t know, maybe get admission into the parks for the rest of the week. I flag down someone that looks important. Nope she’s not, but she will get someone who is. Ok.
BTW as we were leaving, two women from the other party we complaining about Okie too. (That made me feel a little better.)

This is our one and only picture from that dinner :sad2:

By the time I left at 6am, she was really limping

As a single male I wished my living room looked like that :confused3

After all the traffic finally cleared we were on our way. After we pass through the Maryland welcome sign and beeped and waved to the guy peeing on the side of the road, we stopped for dinner at a Craker Barrel. We always try to eat there on the way down or back-I guess its one of our traditions. This was actually a pretty long pit stop(almost 2 hours). And then back on the road again.

We marked the states by taking a nice blurry picture of each state welcome sign.

I like the way you guys marked each state better than the peeing guy

The rest of the drive was pretty uneventful until we actually hit Florida.
It was at this point that we started to hear

So after I threatened my mom with some duct tape...... all was quiet :teeth:

On any long trip(or even to the store) the answer to any question in regard to time or distance is 20min. At first the kids thought it was funny but 3 yrars later they get a little mad.

Loved your trippie, especially Aunt Carol. Now I'm in the mood for some turkey.

You mentioned traffic in Delaware on I95. Was the traffic from normal rush hour congestion, an accident or road work?

We are leaving from Northwest NJ 11/3 and going down on I95. If the traffic was from construction I may need to find an alternate route.

Construction added to rush hour.... was not a pretty picture
If you have a different route, I recommend using it...we just we to Williamsburg, va last week, and it was still crazy.

Thank you....Aunt Carol is part of the reason why our small family trips have been turning into larger extended family trips
There were so many other 'Aunt Carol' moments, that I could probably start a thread just about them :teeth:

(give it some time....her oldest has been reading this...I am sure she will have something to share! APRIL....... where are you???)

I take the pictures every year...mostly so we can document the time we hit each state...but my DH keeps asking if I will ever get rid of the 4 blurry pictures of the VA sign. :teeth:

I assume the purple walls aren't what you are gazing at????
That air hockey table is the focal point of my living room..... although it does get a little tiring when my bro and his friends decide to play a game.
usually around 2 am!

Yup...love the drive....I told DH next time I WILL conquer my fear of flying, and we WILL fly...of course I said that last time too :teeth:

Thanks, I liked making the shirts. and surprisingly everyone liked wearing them.

I think about flying but after seeing the cost for four plane tickets from Newark, NJ to Oralando, I drive. It cost about $1400-$1600 for tickets during Jersey Week in Orlando.

Ouch! I would fly out of philly if we do. I have compared prices out of philly compared to newark.... newark is generally more expensive. :confused3
