I'm looking at the menus for the restaurants we have booked, and I see complete meal packages at Le Cellier and Chef de France. They include soup, main course and dessert.

Are these options availabloe for the dining plan?

Also, I've heard that the Fantasmic dinner package includes an appetiser, even on the regular dining plan, is this true?

thanks

do note that at both Le Cellier & Chef de France, the entree options are for the less expensive entrees at those restaurants (which is why they're allowing the appetizers...still a very good deal for the restaurants.) If you want the famous Le Cellier mushroom filet, you can't get the 3 course meal. We generally prefer to get the better entrees, and pay OOP to order a cup of cheese soup to share...we use it as "dip" for the wonderful bread sticks.

agreed...if you want the less expensive entrees anyway, then it's a deal. If you would rather have one of the more expensive entrees you are far better off just getting that and paying OOP for soup if you want it.

If there's any doubt that these menus are meant for dining plan guests, I've noted that the for two least expensive entrees at Le Cellier (gnocchi and chicken) it would actually cost more to order them from the fixed price menu than it would to order the exact same three courses and pay OOP, so I'm not sure why anyone paying OOP would use the fixed price menu if they wanted gnocchi or chicken.

you're saying the "chefs favorites" items are not available with the dining plan, but the separate items under "entrees" are, correct?

No, she is saying the Chefs Favorites are available with the dining plan. But if you choose them you forfeit your option to order any entree that is not listed on Chefs Favorites. Many Le Cellier fans love the mushroom filet, which you cannot get with the Chefs Favorites. Therefore they think it is more worthwhile to get the filet and a dessert on the basic DDP, and pay for an appetizer. If you were going to order chicken anyway, then what the heck, you might as well order it off the Chef's Favorites and get the appetizer.

To get that appetizer on the basic plan, you have to give up a shot at the more expensive entrees. Disney knows that, it's the reason why they have a Chefs Favorites menu in the first place.
