Hi,

We ( party of 8 ) stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel last year and on leaving filled in a customer service form. I mentioned on it that even though I was a Loews First Gold member we had received no room upgrade ( didnt even mention it at check in as i never crossed my mind ! ) and no welcome gift either. No big deal really but a wee drink of free wine would have been nice.

Anyway on my return to Scotland I received an e mail from a Manager at the Hard Rock Hotel saying if we ever returned that I had to contact him personally and he would look after me etc etc etc. I must have deleted this ( not thinking I would return due to cost etc )

Now, because of the good exchange rate, we find ourselves once more thinking of the Hard Rock Hotel...........is it worth me mentioning this in a phone call ( I dont have the Managers name ! ) or will it be a waste of time ? Do you think it would get me a nicer room or just a free bottle of wine. We are a party of 5 looking for 2 rooms.

Anyone any experience of this ????

Many Thanks,

A couple of years ago we booked adjacent rooms at RPR - when we checked in, they told us they didn't have any rooms close to one another and that we would have to take separate rooms in separate towers. This was unacceptable and we asked for the manager who promptly gave us 2 adjacent rooms on club level with club privileges at no charge. I would either contact the hotel directly, see if that manager is still there and go from there. Or, you can email customer service at Loews Hotels (find the email address on the website). I have done this and I've always gotten a prompt, courteous and satisfactory response.

Yes, we also had the email from the HRH manager (at the time Lou Carrier) explaining how he would personally take care of things. This was about four years back. They also gave us a complimentary night free. At the time we stayed at the HRH for 21 nights!

From what I can remember we booked through Loews as usual, but informed the manager of our stay. There were a couple of things like the check-in staff being more attentive and a room that looked a lot fresher, but nothing to say the manager really went out of his way.

At the time I didn't know about the A1* on the room cards, so maybe that was the difference.

Thanks for the replys,

but what does the A1* stand for ? I have never heard of it.

If you have that printed on your room cards I think it's supposed to mean VIP status so the staff know to be more attentive etc. I think they also put it on there for platinum Loews guests, but I could be wrong.

I think it represents 1 Adult

C1 represents 1 Child

I think it distinguishes for express at the park whether it is a child or an adult using this priviledge with their card.

I think the asterix * on the card denotes whether you are VIP or not.

Not a vip at 1* - the more * the more you will see people fall over themselves to please.

When I next visit the HRH remind me to pack my asterix transfer set :rotfl2:

hello homies and newbies to the loews hotels.

the * that you are discussing means you have charging privileges on your room key.

when you check in you are asked do you want charging allowed on your card.
you can then use your card to charge back to your hotel bill while at the park.

* has nothing to do with vip rating

Hi Macraven! what does the 1 mean? I have seen many cards with A* and C* and some with the A1- is there any difference?

i'll send you a pm

the A is adult
the C is child

McCraven, do you know what does the "1" means?

We have had this on our cards a few times and noticed each time it said VIP on the register at check-in and also on the housekeeping list.

Thanks.
