Complaint, where do I send?

Here's the thing...it's really easy to contact WDW...just go to their official site, look for 'contact us' and away you go!!! There is really not a huge need to come here, asking for addresses to send complaints to. It just opens a huge can of worms.
I have used that contact info many times....usually for good things. But, when something less than wonderful happens, I usually deal with it, at the time, while at WDW. Then, if it isn't rectified there, I send off that email when I get home. I have even sent off the email telling Disney of how impressed I am with the way something was resolved. I have gotten a call back about 75% of the time.

:thumbsup2 Ditto!

Why shouldn't posters come on to a discussion board to seek advice...this is precisely why the DIS is here :)

I will say again what has been stated countless time before.. those that want to create mischief and mayhem need to find another outlet. We welcome questions being asked 1000's of times, just as cast members do, since to the individual this could be all new to them.

Together we will make Theme Parks and Attractions the most welcoming and helpful board on the DIS :)
I hear you, I really do. But, human nature being what it is, everyone just has to know what the issue was. Then, it all goes downhill. And suddenly...the DIS becomes a mean, nasty old place where people are rude!! How many times have we seen this exact same thing happen?? I know that I have...too many times to count.
I have no issues with people asking the same questions....I happily answer them. But I do have an issue with those that, as soon as they see this question, come along and start with ''please, tell us what the issue was, we need to know''. And it all goes downhill from there. Perhaps we need to give the email address and then move along.
I agree...those that want to stir things up should move along to other venues. But, sadly, they don't.
I still think the DIS is a wonderful place to be...great place to get lots of info. Most here have no issue handing out the same advice, over and over.

I agree with you in theory but for the most part, the dis is not a welcoming and helpful board if you don't adhere to a certain mantra. If you dare voice a compliant or in any way criticize the mouse world, the dis is any thing but "welcoming".

the new individual usually finds that out very quickly. which is why so many poster advise op, not to divulge what went wrong. If she/he does it's almost certain that what she gets back will not be advice.

I agree 100%. Policing every thread by removing anything that doesn't paint the perfect picture of the DIS isn't going to change what people already think.

What do people think?

I think the DIS far from paints a perfect picture.

When I first joined I was horrified to see how blatantly rude some people were over Disney (its not like Disney is hot-button topic :rolleyes2 ) But I have now grown to love (most) of the half-glass empty people that frequent here ;)

I have seen changes on this board for the positive - its not as scary for a newbie anymore and thats a good thing ... afterall, this is meant to be a board for information.

Perhaps there could be a sticky at the top of the forum that gives the info for "contacting WDW about compliments, complaints and suggestions"?
This would eliminate the need to post asking for the info and then waiting for a response.
My sense of it, and I doubt I'm the only one, is that SOME people (absolutely not suggesting the op of this thread) ask for the address for co plaints specifically because they want others to ask what happened. It's human nature to a point. A person is very frustrated over something, wants to complain to everyone about it, but doesn't want to just come out and say it.... So they ask where they would go to complain....
I mean, you can just ask how to contact WDW customer service without mentioning that you have a complaint - that would avoid 90% of the curiosity....
Again, if the info was right up front, it might make it easier for everyone.
Just my two cents...

:thumbsup2 I think that your two cents makes a lot of sense- and would eliminate many of these threads- if you could get people to actually read the stickies ...;)

I really think if the OP wanted to :stir: at all they would've jumped at the first request to share their story!

I know I have come to Dis friends with some pretty simple questions, where there is an obvious place to find it on a website. But you never know when a Dis friend has some experience that you don't know about that gets a better, faster result :) That's one of the reasons I LOVE Disboards  lots of tips from those who have been there, done that!

Actually, there isn't a sticky, I was just suggesting we could make one.
And you actually got your answer 11 minutes after posting your question - no need to read through the other two pages ;-)

i know! let me rephrase. wouldn't want this turning into 4 pages!!!!

Believe me...no one reads stickies!!!:thumbsup2

Please, I don't think you were stirring up anything. It's others that tend to do that. Most people are very good about handing out good info. But there are always those who just have to stir things up. Not you...others!!!

Sticky with contact info would be helpful imo. Many people actually do not want to share their story.
As for those who share, it is useful to hear about particular problems, makes you prepared but not everyone sees things the same way, so be prepared that what you found to be a problem, others will not, esp if you expect Disney to make things right(compensation of any sort).

As noted...people don't read stickys.

And the contact info is quite easy to find through Google or a search of Disney's website.

I am saying this with all due respect. I hope that you will apply this philosophy to the nasty ECV threads as well!
