Complaining in front of the customer

agnes! I am in the intended target range for the store I work for and I can tell you I honestly believe the music is to loud. No, a lot of the time it doesn't bother me, but every once in a while I get a headache while working or while driving home, and that tells me it's just too loud! It doesn't stop me from shopping or working there, but that doesn't mean that I am okay with it either. The day after Thanksgiving we were told to turn the music up as high as it goes, from the company office... It was so loud the speakers were shaking, people were LEAVING because they couldn't handle it, and I about wanted to cry because my ears and head were throbbing. My manager proceeded to turn it down because not even he could handle it. It was ridiculous. So yes there is a targeted audience, but that doesn't mean that the targeted audience necessarily enjoys the music when it is that loud. American Eagle has music, they are for the same intended age group for the most part, and they don't have the need to play it so loudly. I love my job, it's fun, laid-back, and allows me to buy clothes I like at a cheaper price, but if I could change the music level, trust me I would! :goodvibes

A previous poster mentioned that the policies such as not being able to leave the front and sell off the display aren't great set rules. As far as leaving the front room; that rule actually makes a lot of sense, especially around this time of year. We have been taught that many times when someone is going to steal, one person will distract you, ask you for a size or a silly question, while the other person is shoveling shirts or whatnot into their bag. Even if that wasn't the case, leaving the front room without anyone to look after it while helping another customer in the back room allows someone to come in and steal perfumes on the front tables or anything else they desire. It happens so often even with people up there. :guilty:
As far as selling off the display, I understand it to an extent... Some of the clothes are ripped and cut in order to fit the display correctly. Hours and hours go into dressing all of the displays a specific way. So I understand it, but I also know the frustrations of the customer when there are several other shirts or jackets of the same kind that could be put on the display instead of the one size they need.
