Comparing POFQ or CSR to WL & buses - have you stayed both?

Well, we're booked at WL, but we'll save $723 if we downgrade to POFQ or CSR.
I'm very curious about the buses. We stayed at CSR last time. We thought that level of bus transport was fine.
I would just assume POFQ is about the same with the amount of stops (since at CSR you go through 4 stops around the CSR resort, and at POFQ you stop at POR).

Now...how does that compare to WL? I know WL has the boat to MK, but what about the bus to the other parks from there? I have read that they share bus transport and I am curious how smoothly travel from WL is, in comparison.

Ease of travel to and from parks is a big reason for our final choice, so we'd be disapointed to spend $700 + more and find out that the WL Bus system is worse then the other two because it shares with other deluxes.

TIA!

I thought the buses at POFQ were great. You are the first stop on the loop for POFQ/POR so we always got to sit and the return bus certainly wasn't an issue. I think WL buses work fine but the best transportation at WL is the boat to MK.

POFQ is great because you are 1st on and off the buses.

WL is also good....but you stop at Fort Wilderness, it is 1 stop so
no big deal.
Happy planning

Remember you have boats to Downtown Disney from POFQ as well!

That sealed it for me!

CSR has terrific transportation. It doesn't share with any other resort (like POR / POFQ) and it only has 4 bus stops within the resort (vs 7 at CBR). And since CSR is centrally located, you'll have a quick ride to all the parks. And being a convention resort, the buses seem less crowded because guests are busy with their conventions.

We've always had a great time at the WL! First, the hotel is amazing. We take the boat to the MK, and if we want to go to Epcot we take the boat to the Contemporary and then use the monorails. I haven't waited long in bus lines for the other parks. That said, $700 is a lot of $. Perhaps you might think about which park you'd visit most and that can help you decide?

I just returned from CSR and was very very impressed with the buses. I've stayed at ASM, POP and POR - and this was by far the best bus service.

We just returned from WL. The resort is beautiful! The buses were ok. We took the boat to the MK twice, and we had to wait for the boat about 15 minutes the one time, and about 5 minutes the second time. It is a nice relaxing ride. The bus to the MK has no stops, and is much quicker than the boat. The other bus rides mostly went to FW after the WL. Overall, the buses were fine.

We stayed at POFQ last year. The buses there were also fine. You mostly had to go to POR, but at least the bus stops and picks up at FQ first. When we stayed at POR in 2006, we had to stand most of the time, and wait for another bus to come around, since it was mostly filled up with FQ guests before it arrived at POR.

We are decided between the two moderates now, and we're ready to give up our deluxe reservation, but we are still split between POFQ and CSR!!!

Go with what theme you like best OR if you kids are younger, POFQ may be better or of you kids are older, CSR has more for them to do. Or maybe even a split stay. Either way, have fun!

personally I like POFQ more. It is a smaller more intimate resort and I love the french quarter theming. We really dont mind the buses there as another poster said you are the first on and off so it works out great.

Well, we decided on the CSR again!
LOL
We are going with two other groups and they were more interested in CSR. Plus dh loved CSR last time. We are kind of scared to mess with a relatively good thing!
LOL

So we're doing CSR, but NEXT time if it's just the four of us, we may finally stay at POFQ or maybe rent a villa...???

You will be happy with your choice. I have stayed at all three. I can remember one night it taking 45 minutes to get from MGM to WL. We had to drop off at Fort Wilderness. We shared with them the entire trip and it really was time consuming compared to other resorts we have stayed at that shared buses.

POFQ shared buses too. It did not take as long as WL but it was time consuming too. It seemed like it took forever to stop at all of POR bus stops on the way to the parks.

We stayed at CSR last year. We thought the buses were great. We never waited more than 5 minutes either way. And the buses were never full. If I were you, I would request a building close to the main area. We were in building 9. We were right at the food court and main bus stop. It was a short walk to the pool. Have fun!
