We were comparing photo books from our Disney Fantasy Cruise from June of 2015 with our Disney Dream cruise from 2017. You can see all about our Disney Dream cruise from June of 2017 in this thread. https://www.disboards.com/threads/w...added-disney-dream-cruise-cabin-6514.3614121/

One of the things I noticed is that we didn't have any photos of us on our Dream cruise on the beach or in the water at Castaway Cay. My wife and I don't remember there being any photographers on the beach at Castway Cay this time. There were the standard photographers when you got off the ship before you got on the shuttle, but not anywhere past that. What makes this odd is that this was a double dip cruise. So we had double the opportunity get a beach photo.

Did we just miss these folks on both days? Do photographers still go to the beach/water to take photos or did this practice stop?

Thanks!

We were on the Dream double dip June 25-30. I saw photographers in the water during our 2nd day at Castaway Cay. This was at the family beach closest to the ship. For our 1st day there, we were on the "second" family beach, and I didn't see any photographers.

It's been a few years for us on Dream but we do have DCL pics from the beach at CC. We were in a cabana but I don't think that would make any difference. Maybe just a "luck of the draw" on who was assigned to take beach pics that day?

I think I may have figured it out with that info. The first day at Castaway Cay it rained and they shutdown pelican plunge. The second day we were down further on the beach. I think we may have just had some bad luck this trip.

It's also possible that either the facial recognition didn't recognize a face, they weren't out, or they did take pictures, and it was on the actual picture wall. I've had that happen where we knew we had a CC pic taken, and had to hunt it down.

we got beach shots on our Dream cruise spring break 2017, so I'm thinking you are correct about the bad luck.

If it were something we would have been thinking about I am sure we would have found a photographer, but we were just having a blast. Congrats on that CABANA!
