Comparing DVC rental companies

I'm strongly leaning toward renting DVC points for an October 2016 weeklong WDW trip, and I'm wondering if anyone has any comparative experience or data on the major rental companies. The ones I've come across are David's, ************ and DVC-Rental (http://www.dvc-rental.com). I already have comparative information about price per point, payment specifics, and other items that are available on their websites.

One thing that I'm curious about is how much success people have had booking in-demand resorts (especially studios) at 11 months out through various rental companies. I imagine this has a lot to do with the various sites' owner rosters, but that's not information that's readily available. Essentially, I want to try to figure out which site is most likely to have owners whose home resorts aren't OKW or SSR, since we're not interested in those two. We haven't narrowed down yet, but we're interested in any of the deluxes except VGF (with a slightly lower interest in BLT and AKL than the other four).

We're looking at renting through a company rather than an individual because it seems less risky (even in the unlikely scenario that an owner would cancel the reservation, at least the companies refund your money).

I apologize if this is already addressed elsewhere--I searched and couldn't find anything.

We rented point privately because we wanted to stay at VGF and Davids Rentals didn't have any owners/points available for the week we wanted to go this September. In fact, the only thing they had in a studio or 1 bedroom that would fit my family of 5 was OKW or SSR. (We probably would have had more success if we had been a family of 4.) The interaction I had with David's cutmoer service reps was always outstanding and had they been able to accomodate what we were looking for, would have definitely rented through them.

I'm a DVC member and I've used David a few times to extend my vacations during hard to get times like Christmas. But I use my points to grab my home resort WLV at 11 months and use David for any other place during very specific days a couple months out. That usually puts me at OKW or SSR. I think you'll have better luck booking at 11 months.

Also the more flexibility you have the more likely to get what you want. I find if I split my time between resorts it's easier to get something I like. Example: 4 nights WLV + 3 night BLT

DVC member also. I've used David's a few times at various months out and always was able to get what I needed. Customer service is always great.
The thing with renting points is you can ask here all you want the only way to know is contact one/all of them and find out what they have available.
The last time I rented from David's I needed about 300 points at AKV (BWV is our home), David's didn't have near that many available but after a few days they were able to find an owner(s) with enough points for my reservation.

I think they are all pretty similar in what they offer and prices and policies. You can find more reviews online and Facebook. Honestly there is no way to say what the inventory will be when you want it. Just because a broker had a member offer up points to them at one time does not mean they would again.

That's something that's impossible to predict. The rental companies 'owner rosters' change constantly.

These companies may have some regulars, who never use their points and always rent them out. But the bulk of their business, I'm sure, comes from people who have just decided to rent some or all of their points because they want to take some other vacation, or have some reason for not traveling that year. As for which resort they own, that's completely random.

If there's any pattern at all, it's that for every rental company, most of the owners they deal with own at OKW or SSR, just because those resorts are the largest and have the greatest number of owners. I would say comparatively few owners will be from GFV and Poly, just because new owners at new resorts tend to want to visit them ASAP.

But as to which company would have more owners from BLT or BWV or BCV or VWL on any given date...I don't think that's something even they could predict.

All you can do is figure out which companies you'd be willing to work with, and then contact them in turn until you can get the reservation you want.
