Comparing August and Easter-time crowds

We went to DLR the first week of August last year. We had never been at that time of the year, but we were pretty well prepared for the crowds. We actually had a great time. Took breaks in the afternoon for naps and swimming. Hardest times were getting in/out of Fantasmic! and the fireworks. Big crowds for those!

This year we might be able to go in April, but it will be the week of Easter. Will the crowds be similar? The weather that week of August was also unusually humid/hot so we are hoping the weather in April is better.

TIA!

The weather should be much cooler around Easter, at least. :)

I'm not sure about crowds. I believe that early August isn't as crowded as, say, late June (which is when I went in summer :flower3: ). I don't know how it compares to Spring Break, but I'd think crowds might be fairly similar, whereas the cooler weather would be nice, right?

If World of Color is playing, the crowds will be crazy for that--but that might actually take people away from Disneyland Park at night, so I guess that would be OK. ;) For 2009, I believe Easter weekend itself was actually a pretty good time to go--all but the most expensive annual passes were blocked out, and the days that some annual passes are blocked out have generally been much less crowded than you might expect. (A very large number of visitors are annual passholders, so periods that those people are less likely to go are currently very good and will probably still be somewhat useful around Easter--maybe not for late 2010, though, since the economy may be better and the APs people bought using their birthday fun cards will be pretty much expired...)

Anyway, I wouldn't bet that Easter 2010 will be unexpectedly uncrowded, but it might be. Hopefully others can help you with a comparison of Spring Break to August.

Thanks for the info! I'm sure we'll end up going in April, but we'll be prepared for the HUGE crowds. Thanks everyone! Its always good to know what to expect.
