Obviously if you're an AP holder or are only going for a few days or just want room only because you have extra tix left the 40% is better...

this comparison is for the person who wants to spend a week at Disney... I included dining.

I just ran numbers and the 4/3 deal going May 30- June 6, 2009.

FAMILY OF 5 with kids 10,8,6 [so pay 3 adult dining plan] *

4/3 deal 7 day base ticket + dining

POR, std view
$2923.62

BOARDWALK, Std view
$3801.00

40% Pin Code 7 day base tx + dining

POR, std view
$3026.72

Boardwalk Std View
$3934.26

*Dining added $993.65 to these packages.

4/3 deal wins!! Crazy. And if you go on value dates before the $200 gf deal ends, you'd have an even better deal.

I am going off assumption that 40% is room portion only of package [based on past experience].

Family of 4 with 2 kids 4 and 6

4/3 DEAL 7 DAY BASE TX + DINING **

POR, std view
$2409.30

BW, std view
$3286.68

40% PIN 7 DAY BASE + DINING**

POR, std view
$2502.42

BW, Std view
$3410.36

**Dining added $713.72 to above packages.

Wow! I'm impressed! :thumbsup2 Now, I don't know if I should have bought the package or not for our trip coming up in February....:confused3

I keep trying to talk myself into staying onsite again. [we plan on Windsor Hills this time] So I keep crunching numbers....UGH.

I'm crunching numbers right now too! :headache: We originally booked the 4/3 deal, then we got the passholder pin code for 40% off.

The 4/3 deal worked out better for us. Just called checking prices and was told the discount is only good for Sun -Thurs. Fri and Sat nights are at rack rate! :headache: Maybe the CM was wrong?

Bottom line is if you are planning a seven night trip to WDW then the 4/3 plan is the better deal (43% off is better than 40% off). However, if your plans are for more or for fewer days then the 40% off deal is the better deal.

I am a bit disappointed that AP holders aren't being offered a better deal--we're not currently AP holders, but have been in the past and feel they should be rewarded for their commitment.

why would you need another 7 day base ticket if you are AP holder for the 40% pin code? 40% pin code wins for AP holders.

Can I tell you how HAPPY you made me?!!! I have been trying to figure if I should cancel my 4/3 deal and convert over to the 40% off military rate that is being offered. Our family is similar to the first case you listed (POR Std view, kids are 13, 6, 4) so you hit the nail on the head for me.

Thank you for helping me and now I don't have to figure any more numbers :)

Actually, you only need to buy a ONE day base ticket per person. As long as it's not used it never expires and can be upgraded later to any other type of ticket. It's like putting a deposit down on your next AP or Post-AP visit, and of course if you're not an AP holder you were going to have to buy tickets anyway.

If you're not planning any visits in the forseeable future after your current APs expire then the 40% pin code is better, but if you will be visiting any time after that, or not a passholder, and you are visiting for exactly 7 nights, then the 4/7 deal is the better one.

BTW, the 4/7 is also an especially appealling deal for AP holders if you're going during the times that the $200 gift card is offered.

It really is simple math. :teacher: Paying 4/7ths (57%) for something is better then paying 60% (40% off) for the same thing.

Where were you when I was figuring all the numbers. LOL.

My way is more fun. :rotfl2:

And we both get to same numbers. LOL.

Is the 40% off room only or ticket and dining too?

I just got the offer in an email.

We are so excited about this deal. We decided our best bet was to go with Shades of Green. It was the cheapest military rate for our 7 night stay. We too are a family of 5, kids ages 16,9,6. I remember from a previous stay at SOG that they have a sleeper sofa. My son will be fine with that.
I am a bit confused....we have never done the dining plan before. Where is the best place to find what options are available on that and is this also being discounted??
