Compare Deluxe and DVC re: Service

Hi,

I am still awaiting my first DVC trip and see so much on the boards about the quality of service and how wonderful it is.

How does the quality of service compare with the deluxe resorts? Is DVC better? How?

Any comparisons or observations? One better in some areas, another better in others? The same? DVC significantly better?

I think the deluxe service is great, but if DVC is better, Wow! I would really be impressed.

okay same problem - the air conditioner did not work properly at the Polyn and BCV - the Polyn the maintence person kept turning on the fan part - mother hated this so this was no solution - I probably called every day for our stay and this is what the Polyn kept doing.

BCV - once they agreeds that there was a problem - and the maintence person could not fix it - they called in an engineer and they took the air-conditioning unit apart to fix it the problem - and they did fix it - something about it not being manufactured properly.

this is the kind of service that I now expect at the DVC resorts - they will generally go that extra mile or two - to make sure you are happy.

again same problem - the floor to the balcony would not open properly - OKW and the Cont - at the Cont they send up someone with that D-40 - of course that did not fix this problem.

At OKW they took the door down and really fixed it - so again DVC wins.

At the DVC resorts the maintence people don't go for the quick fix - they try to make sure that they really fix something for good.
