Comparable?

I've never been to Universal, but was wondering what the prices are like compared to Disney. We are thinking of maybe trying Universal out next year, and the prices for our dates aren't out yet. For Disney, we usually do the package with park tickets and on-site hotel, which is what we'd like to do for Universal. I know that the price will depend on which hotel we chose, but for right now I think we may go with the RPR, which I think is the cheapest.
Any advice/info is greatly appreciated! TIA!

What time of year are you planning on going? Packages are not cheaper through Universal. Right now a 7 day pass is $85 and that can't be beat with a package.
