Companion WC Que

We will be getting a wheel chair from Walker in February for my wife and that will not be a problem. We ave gotten them before from Walker and they are good. We do not use a WC at home, but at WDW/Universal we need one because her back is so bad. I was just wondering if a companion WC might be more comfortable for her. She has has 3 vertabrae fused and has apparatus in her spine and has hip problems now too. I figured the folks here would be best to answer these types of questions. Are there any advantages to a companion chair? She is 5 foot tall and weighs 135. Pushing any chair is not a problem for me. She does NOT want an ECV. She's afraid she'll run people over.

The biggest difference between a Companion wheelchair (also called a transport chair) and a regular one is the tires.
Regular wheelchairs have big tires on the back and small casters on the front.
Companion wheelchairs have 4 small tires. This can sometimes make it a bit harder to push.
The seat, footrests and armrests are likely less heavy duty in the Companion chair. It may be less comfortable for long term sitting, but fine for someone getting out and walking from time to time.
But,I'm should also mention that many people find no difference in comfort or pushing.
