Comp Ticket upgrades

Will be at Universal in the next couple months and we know an employee who will be providing us with a complimentary 1 day pass. Can these employee passes for family members be upgraded to a multi day or park to park. Don't want to cause any issues for the employee.

I don't believe you can upgrade comp tickets at US/IOA (I know you can't at WDW).
