Hi i'm off to the world in July! and i'm going with my mum dad ikkle sis and my partner, now my mum and dad don't intend to go army style but my partner hasn't been before and we intend to take my sister off to hit the parks early and my m&d would meet us later. What i was wondering is is ther a good way to communicate whilst in the parks i know we can't use Walkie talkies and i want to avoid using mobiles as it'll cost too much!

any ideas would be greatfully recieved!!

Use walkie talkies, they are cheap and easy to use ,purchase in Wal Mart and other stores.

i know we can't use Walkie talkies

You can use walkie talkies - but they must be US ones, that's all.

We had some fairly hopeless ones from Walmart, but other people have had better experiences and I'm sure they will post their recommendations for good brands.

...I'd used a friends British ones 3 times in 2 years before I heard they were illegal... but they worked a treat!

we bought our two way radios 2 years ago in Walmart. I cant remember how much they were but they weren't expensive. Used them to keep in touch with our 2 teenagers.

Only thing I will say is a lot of people use them and you have to be patient when trying to find a channel which isn't too croded.

You can buy walkie talkes quite cheaply at Walmart. For less interference when using, buy a set with sub channels - which gives you more options.

We paid a bit extra and got a rechargeable set - saves money on batteries!
