did i miss it? i mean i know i've been MISSING it but is there a post for this week.

i'm really struggling now, anyone else???

Sorry to hear your struggling. Hang in there, I know you can do it. Are you getting excited about your marathon? Keep that as a focus and take it one day at a time! You can do it!! 3 weeks till my marathon! Who would have thought I would be excited to do another one so soon. I was petrified to do the first one, but it wasn't bad.

I had a bad case of "COLD STONE Creamery" on Saturday night. I was good all day long and we had a late dinner at Olive Garden. I ordered the 2 point minestrone, had whole wheat pasta and had the lower points shrimp primavera. Then DH said lets go get ice cream. They just opened a Cold Stone Creamery in town and I thought, I have 8.5 points for dinner and since we ate so late I wasn't that hungry. I came home and figured out my ice cream was almost 30 points........I about died!! UGGH! I gained .8 this week because of that little fiasco and I accidently had Sushi (the sodium in the soy sauce) on Monday. I try not to eat Sushi so close to WI. I think the MISO soup also had sodium. Oh well, live and learn and move on!! I'm doing good now.

I have my 10 mile walk this weekend. Then I start to taper!! YEAH for tapering. I really hope we both have terrific weather. The thought of doing the race in rain is not appealing. The scenery is so beautiful in OC and Assateagua Island and I'm so looking forward to going. We are staying all weekend, so I hope it's beautiful!

melanie -- PD for your 10 miler this weekend - will you get to be outside?

my snag was the two weeks of high mileage, which you are in now, i was just hungry and craved eating more often! and then I made bad choices which led to more bad choices b/c then they become easier. I was eating too much sugar mostly

yesterday was a good eating day and today will be again. :teeth:

tomorrow i'm switching days and walking my 5 miles and then it's a cake walk until Apr 2 -- and yes i think of it sooooo often and remind myself of how much better I will feel and energized at the start line after eating GOOD for 10 days prior - i know I will give myself some slack on Easter but then mon - fri i must be real good! i am getting excited for it - i looked the course up yesterday and it looks fun, not as scenic as the Ocean City one, i would love to do that someday i LOVE that area
 
Hi Molli-

I don't have an area outside that I can walk/run where I know the miles, so it will be indoors. I'm going to work on that this spring. There has got to be someplace I can go, or else figure out the mileage around my neighborhood. I sort of live outside city limits so it's a neighborhood but near a major highway. With a farm and a mill in between our neighborhood and the highway. Not a lot of places to walk without driving. At least the treadmill is easy and I can just go down when I'm ready.

I've also been rewarding myself with a wonderful smoothie when I'm done. Fat free plain yogurt, banana, cup of fruit and 6 ice cubes. Its so good. I drink it 3 times a week after my runs. Good mix of carbs and protein.

Well I binged tonight on a few snack things because it took dinner till after 8pm to be done. UGGH! I did so good all day. I too have been extra hungry lately, especially on Saturday's. I attribute it to the high mileage we do on Saturdays. I think that is why they say its not good to train and diet. At least we are exercising so it could be worse if we weren't getting any!

Tomorrow night is our "whatever" night and I'll make my avacado quesadilla so it will be quick for getting dinner done. YEAH!

It must feel good to know your tapering is starting. I kind of can't wait. I don't mind my 4-5 mile run/walks, but anything 6 and above is so time consuming. I do feel awesome afterwards though. I'm sure I'll be walking the marathon since I'm doing it with Doreen and Erin. I bet that it will seem so much easier this time, especially since I've been running.

I also am so glad that this time around I haven't experienced any soreness! YEAH!!

Hi Debbie- Thanks, I'm getting excited for the race!! I can't wait!

Molli- How are you doing. It's getting so close for you!!! I hope you are doing well and enjoying your tapering. I did my 10.5 miler today. It feels so good to get that out of the way. Next week is 8.5 I think. Then downhill from there.
 
melanie -- i thought of you this morning -- i only had a 4 miler to do after doing my 5 miler on thursday instead of today. tapering is a big 'ahhhhhhhh' for me :)

i am getting a bit excited -- i got up this morning thinking next week at this time I'll be in my car driving to the race -- then as I was finishing up my walk about 3 hours later I thought, hmmmm next week at this time i'll still be walking! I felt strong and well-paced today so i'm just really looking forward to the day/event and having fun!

debbie --thanks for the kudos -- i'll be thinking of everyone next Saturday!
