Following their breakfast at Akershus on Saturday, emmebear & Emme spent some time in World Showcase.

...I decided on a Cantaloopy. When I went to order, she asked if I liked sweet drinks, which I don't. So my only option was a Tsing Tao, as I had waited in line for 10 min. and it was soooo hot. I learned a new way to pour from a bottle quickly while watching her."
And while in China, Emme visited with...
Next stop was in Germany at...
"I chose the lighter of the two beers on draft..."
"It was ice cold and delicious. Was perfect in the tremendous heat."
Then it was on to America for a cold refreshment for Emme from...
"Emme hated this. It was so sweet. Yuck."
"So they exchanged it for this..."

"It's my favorite snack at Disney. It's everything I like...carbs, spice, and cheese. Absolutely perfect!"
And then they were entertained by...
"I've never seen them. It was patriotic and I got a wee bit teary-eyed when he thanked the military, as my brother safely made it home from Afghanistan two weeks ago."
And speaking of entertaining, here's what was hanging around in France...
"He's insane and Emme was very concerned. Since I'm a nurse, she asked me if I would help him if he gets hurt."

She said, "Finally I got to have my 'Ohana dinner. Thomas starved me all day in preparation. I missed going with the family in May because I was sick. My eldest texted me during that meal to let me know that her sister was "literally crying" because I was missing such an awesome meal."

Ellen said, "On Friday morning [Aug. 23rd] I had breakfast by myself at...
"Really, I had wanted to try Carnation Cafe, but there was probably not enough time (before the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour- which was EXCELLENT) and the CM suggested I try here instead."
"I had coffee and a broccoli quiche, which I would not recommend, unfortunately. On the tour we did have lunch here, and THAT was very good!"

And then Ellen sent an update regarding the "Walk in Walt's Disneyland Footsteps" Guided Tour and the included lunch at Jolly Holiday.
First her comments regarding the tour and some pics...
"We all received this pin for taking the tour - which was all very special."
"I got a 20% discount on the tour using my DVC, but there were lots of other ways to get the 20% off (AAA, AP, and D23, I think). Well worth it for any fan of Walt. I cried several times on the tour. Something just so special about walking around DL and hearing Walt's voice while you do that is really magically transporting."
"The highlight of that tour is going into Walt's apartment above the firehouse- where the lamp is left on, which you can see behind me."
And then regarding the included lunch at...
"Lunch at Jolly Holiday was really good. We were all offered several choices when we had checked in for the tour that morning, and I had the Jolly Holiday Salad and a Matterhorn Macaroon - which was huge AND delicious, and which I ended up sharing with my kids later that day."

She said, "Once the tour was over, i met up with my family and friend & son, who still needed to have lunch. Since we were a party of 6, there was quite a wait at Carnation Cafe, and our friend wanted to go to the Plaza Inn, so back we went for day #2 of fried chicken.
"But one of the boys got pasta instead this time, here it is...

"Eventually, just Timmy, Tyler & I were left in Disneyland, and we headed to the Mint Julep bar...

"Mmmmm, my kids were VERY happy with me for knowing about THAT particular snack. They are delicious!"

Then we heard from a new reporter who arrived at Disney World on Saturday, skw444.
She said, "Hi everyone! We arrived yesterday and our first dinner was at Cape May. It was my first time here and I was nervous because lately it hasn't been getting great reviews, but our family enjoyed it."
"Here's a picture of some of the plates (since this is my first time live reporting, I kept forgetting to take pictures). I'll try to do better!"
"First plate: a delicious candied walnut salad, loaded baked potato salad, and peel n eat shrimp. Next plate, vegetables, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, fried clam strips and of course, crab legs. For non-seafood eaters, there was chicken cacciatore, some kind of beef at the carving station, and cheese pizza, chicken nuggets and baked chicken on the kids section."
"We also had noted on our ressie that it was my daughter's birthday so they brought out a birthday card and chocolate mousse with a candle and sang happy birthday to her. Sadly, no picture of the mousse but it was yummy."

They took out the apple cobbler thing they have always had. The one that I LOVED for a seasonal cobbler . The peach was OK, but I really liked the apple.

"For dinner, we had planned on going to Epcot, but there was lightning and thunder and we didnt want to get caught in a deluge, so DH and the kids went down to the Marketplace to get food."

She said, Crystal Brewer checking in....apologies for lack of updates though. It was my first timer fluke of all batteries being dead upon arrival. Phone & camera charged now and ready for park days to begin tomorrow."
