Ding, ding, ding...you are absolutely correct!!! That's two more points for autumnpalm, and you win the game with a total of 4 correct answers. Before you even arrive on Disney property you've already earned 4 August Game Points. Congrats! (Not quite like winning the lottery, but oh well) :upsidedow

And speaking of autumnpalm, she just sent me this test photo from her iTouch...

I will happily share my points with yorkshirebelle as she did half the work!

Glad the texting seems to be working, now I'm just crossing my fingers for good wi-fi at Disney! Thanks for helping me out!:flower3:

We're going to be at WDW October 5th - 13th and would love to give back and be a live reporter! Just tell me how to do it!lol First night we're at Hilton DTD and then BLT 10/6-10/11 then sliding on over to AKV Kidani 10/11-10/13. It will be myself, Jenifer, my 9yo DGD Haley, my 18yo DGD Skye and her BF Jeremiah for his first trip to WDW.

I've changed ADRs so many times and am subject to changing again, but so far I have ADRs for: T-REX, Narcoossees, Teppan Edo, Artist Point, San Angel Inn, The Wave, Jiko, Sanaa, and Boma! Plus a little MNSSHP and F&W! If I can get California Grill that will replace one of the other signatures but not sure which yet. Jeremiah is an aspiring chef and I want to show WDW dining off to him as best I can.

This trip we're celebrating my DGD turning 18 and graduating high school. And more importantly for us all surviving 2012 and the first half of 2013. I used to be a DVC owner at BCV and SSR but had to sell for financial reasons in 2012 due to big life changes. I ended up with custody of the two granddaughters and Nana's got to do what Nana's got to do to make it work! lol Selling DVC broke my heart so bad I still can't handle seeing pics of BCV, but thanks to Dave's we're renting points and back to WDW again after missing 2012. :cheer2:

We're all very excited! Thanks for the thread jabeads! I don't post a lot but you'll usually find me every Saturday morning drinking coffee and drooling over this thread catching up!

Love what Vicki chose at Grand Floridian Café. All items were right up my alley! Yum! :)

September team here!

I’ll be reporting from September 3 thru September 13. There will be two of us: Me (Michael) and my partner (Iván) and we’ll be staying at Wilderness Lodge. Our ADRs include some of our favorites like Via Napoli, Artist Point, Yak and Yeti, Jiko, Brown Derby, Citricos, Le Cellier and also a few new ones like ‘Ohana, Narcoossee's, Flying Fish Café, Kona Café (Lunch) and The Dining Room at Wolfgang Puck.

You should expect to see a lot of snacks and some cocktails…(Lapu Lapu:cool1:).There are some must in our list like that bread pudding from ‘Ohana and the jalapeño cheese pretzel.

Thanks to all the previous reporters for keeping this thread alive and to Barb for all the hard work.:thumbsup2

So now let's finish up with yesterday's updates, starting with Anne's (scanne) dinner update from Epcot's...

First some menu pics, starting with the margaritas and other adult beverages of course... ;)

Kids menu...

Anne said, "Dinner tonight (yes we were actually hungry for dinner!) was at La Hacienda. We didn't order appetizers or desserts - just had chips and salsa to start..."

"And entrees, starting with DD who had the Kids steak taco with corn tortillas so it was gluten free..."

"DS had chicken tenders, which aren't on the menu but they were able to get for him."

"I chose the shrimp tacos..."

Tacos de Camarones - Fried shrimp, chipotle-lime aioli, cabbage, lime and salsa verde, all served over flour tortillas

"Excellent. Tons of flavor, a little spicy and well balanced."

"DH had the chicken..."

Pollo al Pastor - Achiote marinated chicken served with roasted vegetables, beans and pineapple relish

"He said it was great! Flavorful and he loved the sauce which was slightly sweet with some heat to it."

"My aunt had the tilapia..."

Pescado a la Talla - Grilled tilapia served with esquites (roasted corn), nopales (cactus leaves) and mango chutney

"Flavorful and perfectly prepared."

"My parents shared the La Hacienda platter..."

La Hacienda - Mixed grill offering New York strip, chicken al pastor, chorizo and vegetables, served with beans and fresh salsas

"Tons of food on here! They cleaned it up though and said it was delicious!"

Last, a pic of the rice and beans that accompany all of the entrees...

"The only disappointment was that this restaurant does not accept TIW or any annual passholder food discount. But they do accept DVC discount. We didn't get any alcohol...as much as I love a good margarita, I cannot see spending $14 for one. We are going to walk through World Showcase and get some desserts in France to take back to the hotel. More posts later."

5 August Game Points Earned + 4 Bonus Points for sign and menu pics

Regarding that World Showcase snacking, Anne later sent this three-part update...

Karamell Kuche

First some display case pics...

Trays and trays of delicious caramel treats...

And they chose...

Chocolate Caramel Rice Krispie Treat

Milk Chocolate covered Caramel & Marshmallow Caramel Swirl

Next stop was at the French bakery...

Boulangerie Patisserie

Where they got some...

Macarons & Éclair

"I had a macaron and a bite of the éclair tonight. The éclair was so rich and chocolatey. The macaron was good but very sweet."

Their last stop was in the UK at the...

Twinings Tea Shop

3 August Game Points Earned + 3 Bonus Points for menu and misc. pics

Next we have a couple of updates from Becky (BlovesC), starting with the one from their dinner last night at Epcot's...

She said, "Dinner tonight was at a restaurant we've long avoided, Garden Grill. Living with the Land is my faaaave attraction in Epcot so I've long wanted to try it, but the character aspect has kept us away. Until now!"

"The menu...our server explained the "family style concept" to us at least five times. Dude, we get it!"

"The first thing out was the salad..."

"Charlie got cute with the plates. ;) If you can kind of tell in the pic, we were practically sharing a booth with the next party, which meant Charlie was trapped and I was the one who had to handle the characters. Convenient! Anyway, the salad was SO GOOD. Charlie thought my rave reviews were overblown and said it probably only tasted so good because of all the ice cream we had today." :p

"This is legit one of the pics Charlie took. I did not crop it. Good thing we weren't there for character memories! ;) They were all fine...I'm just (shamefully I know :guilty:) not into these guys or Mickey much. I prefer face characters that can talk back!"

"I loved being able to see ride scenes from our table!"
:thumbsup2

Now for more food...

Rolls...not very warm but fluffy!"

"Our platter...steak and mash, tilapia and veggies, turkey and stuffing. I thought the turkey was fine and loved the broccoli and carrots but overall it was all very plain and barely lukewarm."

"So I pushed the platter aside and asked for more delicious salad!"

And then dessert...

"The harvest skillet cake was very much like a dry cornbread with berries mixed in. It tasted like it had been made in an Easy Bake oven." :(

"So overall not a great success. I'm glad we finally tried it but once was definitely enough. I loved the salad and seeing the scenes pass by but not enough to warrant the $72 bill. Charlie is pretty sad right now that I wasted a meal opportunity in Epcot on that."

5 August Game Points Earned + 4 Bonus Points for name/menu pic, misc. pic, and pic of Chip

Hi there! I love, love this thread and would be happy to do some live reporting when we visit WDW in November - Nov 10-16....do you need a reporter for this date?

Then a couple of hours later, Becky sent this update.

She said, "Charlie's whining about our dinner reached a crescendo once we got back to the hotel [Wilderness Lodge] and he decided we needed to hit the lounge."

"The Territory Lounge is so dark and relaxing! We both agreed it had the best ambience of the lounges in resorts we've stayed in."

Food menu

"Charlie ordered this Full Sail lager...pretty good!"

"The bottle seriously looked like it was bottled in someone's garage." ;)

"I ordered the non alcoholic coconut elixir..."

"I've had it before, it's tasty and refreshing. I thought the arrow shaped toothpick was sooo cute!"

"It says Wilderness Lodge on it of course!"

"Aaaaand yup you know it, we ordered the fondue!..."

"Pretzel bread, sourdough, green apples, and figs!"

"And the cheese! I'm not a fan of cheese with beer (yes that includes Canada soup! ;)) but I thought this was pretty tasty! Charlie loved it. He didn't like the apples or figs though so I ate those plain." :)

"We had a lovely castmember who was actually from our tiny town but she wound up giving us the wrong bill. Charlie signs everything blindly so he didn't notice until he pulled the receipt out when we were in the gift shop. The bill we paid for was only $14 for two vodka drinks...ours would surely be higher. So we went back and the CM checked the computer and said she couldn't issue a new bill because the other customer had paid their bill too. Huh? She told us to just consider it as an extra discount...but meanwhile someone else paid $10 too much for their bill. What if they came back and wanted a refund? Weird." :confused3

"But still a fun visit to a great lounge!" :thumbsup2

Hi there! I love, love this thread and would be happy to do some live reporting when we visit WDW in November - Nov 10-16....do you need a reporter for this date?

Sure...that would be great! I'll be in touch in October. Thanks for volunteering and I'm glad you're loving the thread! :goodvibes

Now looking to the future, I have decided to extend the thread through November. I will not however be taking live updates during the month of December. But I do have something else in mind, so the live thread should remain fairly active during this time. ;) As of now, I'm thinking that this will conclude my hosting of this thread. However, that's four months or so away and therefore it's possible that I could change my mind by then. :upsidedow

So now it's time to bring out the cheerleaders...

:cheer2::cheer2: IT'S RECRUITMENT TIME!!!:cheer2::cheer2:

If you are planning a trip to Disneyworld or any of the other Disney parks in October or November, please consider being a live reporter. :flower3:

.

Hi Barb,

We are going again from November 29 - December 6 so I can so the 29th and 30th. I'm anxious to find out what you have for December!

If you change your mind about live reports in December I will do the rest, too!

Thanks or keeping the thread going!

I will actually be at Disney World myself on the 5th through the 12th of December and am meeting up with several other DISers. I'm hoping to do a joint dining report following our trip here on the live thread. I've already talked to Brenda (emmysmommy) and Vicki (GoofySon'sMom) about my plan and they have agreed. Hoping to get a few others of our group to join in as well.

So anyway, how about if I put you down for reporting from Nov. 29 - Dec. 4th? And maybe I'll run into you on the 5th? ;)

WooHoo I get to report to!!! September member checking in :-) Our dates..8/31-9/5 (10 sleeps!!) Our place..ASSports (boys..lol) Our tribe..Myself(34),DH(34),Ds(16),DS(13)
This will be our first WDW adventure all around so we stuck with QSDP tho if we decide and can get inside there may be some oop TS ;-) Our oldest began his junior year with youngest beginning junior high so this is truly moms trip of having "lil" guys one more time ;-) Super excited to share with all of you!! Barb your great for giving us such a place :-)

So now that I've let the cat out of the bag regarding my plan for December, if there is anyone who is going to be at Disney World on Monday, Dec. 9th and would like to join us for an Epcot Bar Crawl, we would be happy to have you...even if for just one drink. As of now, the attendees will be Brenda (emmysmommy) & Em (Just Emmy), Vicki (GoofySon'sMom), Linda (Linda67), Rachel (rachel09985), and Paula (smile4stamps). Oh, and me too! ;)

I'll post a tentative schedule for that day here on the thread when it gets closer to December, so you will have a general idea of where to find us. Or of course, you can just text me...as most of you have my number by now. :lmao:

Hi Barb -

I'd be happy to report again during my trip for the Wine & Dine Half Marathon - November 7-11.

It will be my first visit home to Bay Lake Tower and we'll be doing some F&W events as well!

Chris

One more update to post from yesterday and then it's time to call it night.

Here's another great update from Mr. DonaldDoleWhip...

He said, "On Sunday, we spent some time at Animal Kingdom. I grabbed my breakfast from..."

Menu

All food on display

"The colossal cinnamon roll lives up to its name!"

"I chose the African spice cake and really enjoyed it. It was moister than I was expecting, with a warm flavor and creamy filling that reminded me of pumpkin pie."

"We had lunch at..."

Menu

"I got the smoked chicken salad with dressings on the side (it came with balsamic vinaigrette and chipotle vinaigrette). The salad had too many tortilla chips on it for me, but once I removed most of them, I enjoyed it."

"Nice details in our sitting area."

View

"After a few rides, we were hungry for a snack, so we stopped at the vegetarian kiosk. I believe this is the location that used to serve 'boneless wings' (aka chicken nuggets) with teriyaki sauce."

Everything on display

"We split the samosas and really enjoyed them - they were nicely spiced, but not overwhelming. The raisin and carrot slaw underneath was extremely refreshing, with a pleasant mint flavor."

"A few more interesting menus that caught my eye."

"Allergy-friendly kiosk on Discovery Island."

"We were really impressed with the current quick service and snack offerings in Animal Kingdom."
