I am trying to convince DH to join me in saying Hi since we'll be there at the same time. He thinks I'm off my rocker...but I have found this to be a great board ....and we all love the same thing....Disney!!

My BF is the same way. He asks me all the time "what are you doing" or "whatcha looking at" as if he doesn't already know the answer. It always either disboards, disunplugged, or something Disney related. Then he just rolls his eyes and laughs. He's only been once but we are going to attempt to corrupt him in October.

After signing off last night I received three more updates.

First was a short dinner update from Eric (VikingInMouseEars), who attended the MNSSHP last night and had dinner at...


Pecos Bills



He said, "After the fireworks and Boo to You parade it was time to eat. We went to Pecos Bill's and discovered they have added spare ribs to the menu. How did we miss that? We both ordered the ribs and they come with coleslaw and a choice of several other sides, we both got fries. I got chocolate cake and Luanne got strawberry yogurt for dessert."

She said, "Yesterday we made it an Epcot day! We started with a princess breakfast at Norway's..."

seasidespences also sent us an update from lunch yesterday at Epcot's...


Coral Reef


She said, "The kids loved it here. The aquarium definitely kept them occupied while waiting for their food."



"We started with the char-grilled octopus...











... and the crab cake."




"DH loved the octopus app, I tried it and the taste was good...I just couldn't get over the fact that it was octopus! The crab cake was a disappointment for me...quite mealy (no descent pieces of crab) and full of filler."





"For our entrees DS had the shrimp and cleaned his plate."






"Again DD had Mac & cheese and didn't like it (I've banned her from this dish for the rest of the trip! )."







"DH had the mahi mahi and said it was "ok"...






... and I had the lobster pasta."




"The pasta was good...lots of lobster and a nice overall flavor."



"We skipped dessert because we knew we had another meal in about 6 hours and we didn't want to be overly stuffed."​

Our next 4 updates received this morning are from a new reporter who arrived at Disney World yesterday, Jenna (DisWishes720).


She said, "After a delayed flight we finally made it to Magic Kingdom and had lunch there at..."






"I had the tuna sandwich. It was really tasty!"






"Everyone else ate their meals before I could snap a photo."




"Then we couldn't pass up getting TJ a special surprise from a kiosk near Belle's Castle."






"Then of course we had to ride this..."

Then Jenna said, "Before dinner we headed to Epcot for some drinks and I introduced Holly to her first Grand Marnier slushy!

She loved it!"

She said, "We of course started off with some drinks. I had a French martini."





"Holly had a dirty martini."






"The men all had vodka martinis."





"And mom had a Long Island iced tea."





"The drinks were all made to perfection!"



"For apps, we had a Spicy Kazan roll, which was absolutely amazing!"

Note from jabead: I asked Jenna how the (post-Yoshi) sushi compares to CA Grill's previous sushi offerings.

Here was her reply...

"There is a slight change in the sushi. There definitely isn't that same "wow" factor as before, but it was still delicious. We eat at Nobu in NYC and it is still very close to that level."



Moving on now to their entrees..


"My dad and I had the Pork two ways."



Pork Two Ways - Grilled Tenderloin, Goat Cheese Polenta, Mushrooms, Lacquered Belly, Applesauce

"The apple pork was melt in your mouth delicious!"



"Big T, Nana, and Holly had the scallops."

"Mark had the Bell & Evans Chicken with mac 'n cheese."

"For dessert, we had the banana fritters with three dipping sauces."

"This was by far the best dessert of the night. Fluffy and delicious, the caramel sauce was by far the best!"

"This was very tasty and I would recommend it."



"We also had the sundae three ways."

"This was just ok. The root beer was flat."


Note from jabead: All the online menus I could find say that a Coke float is included with this dessert sampler, but perhaps they have changed it to root beer??? Or that is maybe why it didn't taste right? I'm not much of a Coke drinker, does it taste like flat root beer?



"And after dinner we headed out to the observation deck to watch HalloWishes!"





"It was a magical night!"



Note from jabead: I asked Jenna one more all-important question...HOW WAS THE SERVICE?

Her reply, "The service was excellent. A little slow for us but we are from the Northeast and things do move faster up there." ​

That entire meal from California Grill looks amazing. Can't wait to go back.That last dessert trio looks very similar to the Boardwalk Concession trio from Flying Fish.

Jenna's next update was from their breakfast snack this morning at DHS'...






"We had the cheese Danish which is my all time favorite and did not disappoint!"





"Also the butterfinger cupcake."





"And the chocolate peanut butter cupcake."




"Both cupcakes were moist and delicious! A little much to handle, but worth the mess!"

"New packaging for tie dye cheesecake."





"I had the sloppy joe with fries. It also had 4 onion rings on the sandwich. I got a cookie for dessert."





"This is Luanne's partially eaten tuna on a multi-grain croissant with fries and a chocolate cupcake."




"She said the sandwich was very good and had a load of tuna on it. My sloppy joe was also very good."​

Ohhhh another wonderful looking CA Grill update. The scallops look heavenly even if they look like they went through the suds cycle!

I do believe that they have added those little bowls to the buffet at Akershus. I have wanted those for little dishes of things for some time. Great idea.

I literally can't wait to try California Grill - the sushi really does look great.

I was lucky enough to eat there when Yoshi was still running the show but it looks like a high standard is still in place

Somebody needs to review the Sake Martini before I do
