We're Americans living in Copenhagen and we're planning a trip to WDW in September/October 2014.

I've got a decent balance of Disney reward dollars on my Disney Visa and I'm trying to figure out the best way to start planning the trip.

Can I only use the reward dollars if I book through Disney? Can I use the dollars on reduced rates if Disney is offering them? If I pre-book some of the travel in Spring 2013 and they offer free dining again in the Fall can I receive it?

We're planning on 4 days in the parks, 5 full days on resort and there are 5 of us. Any other advice?
Thanks!
Jack

Some TAs will accept your rewards card for payments if you book a Disney package with them. Others will not. For instance, Orbitz won't take the rewards card when you book a Disney package with them but some online agencies, like Dreams Unlimited, will.

If you deal with Disney directly, they will accept the rewards card as payment for any reservation that you make with them, regardless of whether you got a discount or are paying the full rack rate.

You can book now (or in Spring 2014) and if a discount comes out for the dates that you will be there, you can call to see if your stay qualifies. Disney will re-book your reservation under the discount code if it does qualify. They will not automatically apply the discount for you. You (or your TA) must call and ask for it.

There are two different "free dining" discounts for Fall 2013. One ends with stays starting on 9/25. The other begins with stays starting on 9/29. That 3-day gap between the 2 offers can cause problems for guest who arrive after the first window closes but before the second one opens. Someone like you, who will only be staying 5 days, could run into that next year if the same "black hole" exists for "free dining" offers in 2014.

Sorry, no advice.

But your Title sounds like the first line of a marketing campaign for a new product.
