Comic Con-- need San Diego advice

Hi guys. We're going to Comic Con this year. I was just reading on their website that the parking will be difficult. Have any of you ever been to Comic Con? Or, anyone live in San Diego that may have some advice for parking? Thanks!!

Under the Disneyland forum here is a sub-forum called California & the West. Under that is another sub-forum called Southern California that includes info on San Diego.

I bet lots of locals help out there and may have info for you.

I believe they have shuttles, and SD has a trolley system, so with one of those maybe you can avoid parking near the convention center. Here's a map with some useful links:

Thanks for the info. It's looks like we'll be taking the trolley from Old Town. Sounds like fun to me!

We love that show! The Stan Lee episode was great. The guy who plays Sheldon is from Houston, so of course he's our favorite.

The best advice I can give you is to use the shuttle/trolly system that another poster talked about..unless you stay in one of the hotels that is next to the convention center..then it is a short walk.

enjoy San Diego, there are a lot of things to do before or after the convention, heck you can even hop on the train and go up to Anaheim..I THINK there are some things in Anaheim you could see!!

Hi, Grumpy Pirate. I'm so jealous that you live in San Diego. This will be our 6th visit, and first time to Comic Con. We're staying on Coronado, so we won't have a shuttle or the opportunity to walk. How is the trolley route from Old Town to the convention center? Is that a good trolley line to take? Then after the convention, it would be Margarita time in Old Town.

Sorry, not a Margarita. Rum??

If you are staying on Coronado, and don't want to drive a rental, you could always take the ferry from coronado, then a taxi to the convention center.

I agree with GP.... but if you get to the convention center early enough you can find parking. Also you can park at any ACE parking lots all around the city and there are pleanty of them closer to the Convention center...and than if to far to walk you can grab one of the many perosns that drive around on bikes that have seating for 2 and they will transport you to the CC. During Comic con they are everywhere....
