Comfy sofa beds?

Has anyone found ANY comfy sofa beds in any resort? We need to use one for a third adult but usually the mattresses in standard hotels elsewhere have been subpar.

As a bigger adult through the years I've slept on various sofa/pulldowns at Disney. I thought the Murphy beds at AOA were very comfortable, just like a real bed. The pull down at CBR wasn't bad at all either (but not quite as comfortable and it was smaller). The sofa bed at CR wasn't too comfortable, but it was doable. The sofa bed at AOA was horrible, IMO. Could feel the bars in the bed. This was about 5 years ago so maybe they've changed them though.

Thank you- that helps rule out some! I’m leaning towards BWV or Inn but CBR was our second choice.

I slept on the sofa bed of a suite in CSR Gran Destino Tower. It was extremely comfortable but the tower is still new so the sofa bed hadn't seen a lot of use yet.

I find the day beds at the deluxe resorts to be comfortable but those can only be guaranteed in the deluxe monorail resorts (if you have 5 guests in an EP resort, you would definitely get one there, otherwise it's just a request) We just stayed at RIV and the new pull-down beds they use at that resort were very comfortable. Maybe consider a studio or one-bedroom there? We do not find the pull-out sofa beds to be comfortable at all.

I'd bring an air mattress or rent a roll away. We always bring an air mattress and never had complaints.
Thanks! We are thinking of flying so I’m not sure if bringing a mattress is possible, but definitely something to keep in mind.

I’ll check the Murphy beds and day beds, then, if possible rather than sofa beds. Does EP stand for Epcot?

I always get the sofa bed in our few travels to Art of Animation. My wife gets the bedroom and we (myself and preteen) close that bedroom door very tight due to my wife's extreme snoring. I am 6' 3" and 210 pounds as a frame of reference. I have had my share of hotel sofa beds (i.e. Homewood Suites, Residence Inn) since meeting my wife and I can honestly say, I have no issues with the sofa bed at AoA.

The first night is always tough, because the night before I was on my own bed back home. I also chalk it up to nerves and excitement to begin the adventure for the week. I don't know if I feel the 'bar' but I do feel where the bed folded in on itself to make the couch. Even the kid I am with in the family suite room is tossing and turning on the Murphy bed. The room is always just a little too hot and I always hear different things in the night, to include a woman who repeatedly knocked on our door that first night. She kept shouting for us to open up. I went to the door and I saw her further down the hall, knocking on more doors.

OK. With that said, after that first night and now that we begin to hit the parks, all subsequent nights I sleep like a log from exhaustion. We get back to the room, teeth get brushed, Mater-bed gets pulled down and sofa bed gets opened. Lights out. Next thing I know my son wants to watch the Park roller on TV to see what to expect for the day.

I think the hardest thing I have to do with the Cars family suite.. is move that coffee table away from the couch so I can open it. What does that table weigh? 100 pounds? Why is it so heavy? 🤔

Many of the murphy beds (other than the new ones at SSR and RIV) are not that big. Many are smaller than a twin sized bed, both narrower and shorter.

The murphy beds are great . They use a regular mattress.

I had a sofa bed at Boulder Ridge that was so awful one time, my friend insisted they bring me a regular mattress for it. LOL I would have never done that, but boy was I glad she did! Of course, we could not close it, but that was no big deal for us. A good night sleep for a full week was well worth it.

I never met a sofa bed I liked, not even the one we bought for our basement. And we payed up for the better mattress (yep they got me>:() LOL

I am seriously thinking about a mattress in a box and shipping it to the resort on Amazon or something.. I am stuck on what to do with it after the trip. I dont think the airline wants us to check a mattress!

Wouldn’t it be great if some DIS’ers who live the the parks (and Aulani!) could collect “leave behind” things like that (and food) and donate them to cast members in need or even the homeless???

We used to do a Pal Mickey trade here on the boards.. do they even make those now? He was a doll that was interactive and gave all kinds of Disney info. We would pass it on to someone who was coming on the day you left. If only a mattress trade wasn't so daunting!
