I'm assuming (yes I know what it means) that flip flops/sandals will not be supportive enough for 5 days in the park.

I do have sneakers but wondering if airwalks/keds/converse are also "good enough" for a long day in the park?

I've done converse in the park, all day long and regretted it. Go with a good pair of shoes, coz not only will you be walking for miles you'll also be standing. And Converse and flip flops don't cut it. :hippie:

I wear flip flops. I have no problem wearing mine. I bought a pair that had more cushion to them. I had no issues wearing them. My girls wore flip flops and salt waters and didn't complain. I think that what ever you are normally comfortable in is what you will find the most comfortable while you are there.:goodvibes

Flip flops by Nike are my choice if it is warm enough. I alternate daily between the quishy ones and the foam ones. I like being able to stretch my toes and arches while I'm in line, and I can do that better with flip flops.

They have to be ones that are comfortable to you though. I have two other pairs of pricey brand flops that are supposed to be for walking or hiking and I can not wear those in the parks all day.

If you were going for only one day you could probably get away with it... but for 5 days i definitely have to recommend a good pair or walking shoes.

I bought a pair of Keens sandals for a Disney trip years back and they are still my go to shoes in the parks. If you are a sandal person, spend some money on a good pair with lots of support and you can definitely wear them all day.
I prefer not to wear tennis shoes if we're going on water rides because I hate wearing wet socks! :laundy:

Me too! I found a pair of Nike flip flops with gel soles for about $20 at Famous Footwear in our local outlet mall. I had just planned to wear them around the resort, but changed my mind. I had worn my favorite Doc Martins to DHS, thinking I'd be fine as they're very broken in and normally comfy, but apparently I hadn't done nearly as much walking in them before. That night and the next morning my feet were aching, so I wore the flip flops and I was totally not sore the next night. Unfortunately the rest of our trip was cooler, so I wore tennis shoes the rest of the time.

That's exactly where I got mine!

I also paid over $50 for Montrails that I thought I had sufficiently worn in but ended up hurting in. (I know some people on here love them)

I find that the socks also make a difference. High performance running or hiking socks also make your more comfortable.

Thanks everyone, I wear size 13women shoes so I usually have to order online because most stores won't carry my size in-stock ;-)

I'll be taking my tennis shoes, airwalks and flip flops and we shall see how it goes! Flip flops to wear down to pool and also to change into on water rides so my shoes don't get soaked :goodvibes

Good insoles can make a pair of keds much more reasonable. I do some volunteer work at a large parade/festival which essentially involves 6 hours of standing followed by 4 hours of walking and a pair of cheap Ked knockoffs with $20 gel insoles worked well for me.

Going places like that, Vegas, whatever where I'll be on my feet a lot I either wear sneakers or my Teva flip flops.
