We're bringing our 3-year-old to Disney for the first time this summer. She is obsessed with princesses, but the Disney Store dresses she has are too hot and itchy to wear in the August heat. Does anyone have any experience with more comfortable dresses, preferably cotton?

Check out Etsy for sure. There are some awesome choices that are made with cool, comfortable material. And your little princess will stand out a little more too!

My little one’s favorites are loverdovers on Etsy for fancy dressed and six princesses boutique on FB for everyday princess dresses.

I also buy on Disney resale groups on FB.

A lot of moms also recommend Mom’s approved costumes. They are lighter and can be washed in the machine, but I haven’t bought any from there.

Smocked Candy has the CUTEST princess inspired dresses. They’re comfortable & beautiful.

mom approved are great, light weight a comfy, and all the seams are wrapped so no itches.

Another vote for Little Dress-Up shop! No shedding glitter, no buttons, zippers or Velcro. Beautiful choices on the website and fast service, free shipping and frequent discount codes. My granddaughter just got her Anna dress and matching 18” doll dress yesterday and she is beyond thrilled.

Smocked Blessings just posted some Disney princess inspired that look a lot like the ones Smocked Candy had.
Those are cotton & super cute!

I posted my previous question from my phone. So, let me explain a little more.

The dresses were cute pullover play dresses. Play dresses, for me, mean that they are very comfortable and they don't cost $30+ an outfit. More like something they could wear outside to play, or, for us, wear to a park and not really worry about it.

I paid $21 including shipping for these at 6 princesses boutique on FB. She wears them almost daily. If they were more elaborate and closer to the Disney style they were probably Mom approved coustumes. Though those dresses are about $30. They are not ichy and most people rave about them.

I have bought from Littledressup shop as well. My girls wore their Frozen and Rapunzel dresses to the parks. They were super comfortable and non-itchy. They also have had no issues being machine washed. :)

When my daughter was little, her favorite thing was to wear princess dresses to Disney - but we never bought the real princess dresses. She would actually wear the princess "gown" pjs over shorts. They were princess-y and special but super light and comfortable. Plus she reused them as real PJs when we got home.

Be attentive to the shoes as well! I see so many little princesses in "high heels" who are in pain after a few hours.
