We're headed down next August with our three kids (6, 5 and 2), and are looking for a suite/villa style hotel in the WDW area that is comfortable and reasonably affordable. We've always stayed on-site, but we want to tack a couple extra days onto our DVC stay, so any suggestions would be welcome.

Thanks!

Sheraton vistana! I have stayed there twice and it was great! Cypress pointe would be my #2.

Check out the Marriott Residence Inn. Suite rooms, plus a very decent free breakfast--with our family of 5 we really get our money's worth!

Spring Hill Suites at Marriott Village. They include a breakfast and have a suite styled room (but a little cheaper than Residence Inn). :thumbsup2

Another vote for Cypress Pointe Resort. Our favorite for features and especially great location since 1993. And it just keeps getting upgraded with each stay. We enjoy being able to walk to nearly everything (including DTD) in a planned community setting very pedestrian friendly - a rarity in Orlando.

We stayed at the Residence Inn and found it to be VERY nice and one of the best breakfasts I have ever seen. However, we stayed there on miles so not sure if it would be considered affordable.

It sounds like this is for just a couple days and you wouldn't find a condo/townhome rental to be a good option?

Cypress Pointe and the Sheraton Vistana Resort are two nice condo resorts with excellent Lake Buena Vista locations -- not that far from Downtown Disney. Both of these do retail rentals for a few nights. I think, though, you really would want a rental car for either of these. These would give you space like you would get with DVC condos, your full kitchen, two or more bedrooms, nice screened in balcony, washer/dryer, etc. We've stayed at both of these numerous times.

If you won't have a car, the Doubletree Downtown Disney hotel with the shuttles every 30 minutes to the park would probably be a great choice. I haven't stayed here, but have been researching Downtown Disney hotels for a four night / three day mini stay.

We just booked the Homewood Suites in Lake Buena Vista. All reviews are good to excellent. We have yet to stay there, but it might be worth looking into.

I must agree with the Marriott Residence Inn. Great value, great rooms and the breakfast is a nice touch.

Enjoy!
