having my 1st dwd holiday in june soooooooo excited. staying at the comfort suites maingate east in kissimmee. anyone been, whats it like? up to now not hiring car is the shuttle buses as bad as everyone says? also what will the weather be like. last week in june and 1st week in july.

Sunminnie, you'll have a great time there - definitely in my top 3 most enjoyable hotels. They are picking up awards regularly, 1 of only 6 properties to get the Choice hotel Platinum award in USA last year I believe, the GM was awarded top Florida hotelier last year - out of ALL the Florida hotels. Their (free) deluxe continental breakfast has more items than I've seen anywhere else, the pool area is great and the staff are super. The Sales Manager is a Brit who emigrated about 10 years ago and therefore understands the Brit market. Oh, and check whether your holiday coincides with a Space Shuttle launch - they've arranged snacks and drinks on the hotel roof in the past, there's quite a good view from there!
Did you book direct or through an agent?

Booked with Thomas Cook and going with Virgin from Manchester i've heard that Virgin are quite good. i normally go to places like Spain so don't know what to expect in florida. Thanks for all the info. By the way do they have much variety in alcohol in the hotel and is it expensive.

Hi, I was interested in this as we've earmarked this place to stay in 2007. Nearly all the reviews on Tripadvisor are favourable, the ones that aren't are just being nit-picky.

Sunminnie, sorry I can't help you with the alcohol question but we flew with Virgin last year from Gatwick and thought they were excellent. Have a wonderful time in florida and I would be grateful to hear your views of the hotel.:sunny:

Hi,
they have a poolside bar that serves beer, wine, spirits and cocktails. The variety of beers is limited - as in most places - to American/Canadian/Mexican, but tends to be more expensive than in the UK, plus you'll be expected to tip. Rather than pay every round, it's probably better to start a tab and tip when you settle the bill.
When you check in, look at the bumf they give you with your room key, it may contain 'buy one get one free' drinks vouchers. If not, ask on front desk if they have any vouchers for the bar, they WILL have some!
Enjoy!
