Comfort Suites Maingate East (CSMGE) Rm#?

I've booked a good rate with them for our week in December. Any advice on a good location to request? I've read several complaints here about SLOW elevators so would it make sense to request a low level floor or is there a prob with them? Too noisy? Although a nice view would be nice too, but if the elevators are that annoying, we may just do without. Will probably be AT WDW for any views! LOL!

What kind of rate did you get? I haven't been down to Florida since I was a little kid. We are going down next week and we booked Comfort Inn Maingate West for 45.00 a night. All we really cared about was a microwave and fridge.

I followed the advice of other posters and looked up the choicehotels.com rate. Be sure to book Standard Rate not AAA/CAA or any other special group rate or it won't qualify. "Internet User Rate" will qualify though (& it's the same as AAA/CAA). Then looked around on travelocity, expedia, hotelkingdom, valutrips, AND the good one for this...hotelmartusa.com. Our $98.99/night (which I would not do anyway) became $54.51/night after returning to the choicehotel site and filling in their form on-line & receiving their response via e-mail. Our rate went up a bit on weekends with hotelmart so choice takes the daily average to do the reduction. Happy with this. Now need a good location to request.

Good luck. I think I've read on here that CSMGE gets better reviews than the West one. I had ruled out the West location. May be because there are 6 of us though, not sure.

I spent 1 night at this hotel before starting our disney vacation. It is very nice. I did not find the elevators that slow and we had a room on the 5th floor. We had a view of the Sky Coaster from Old Town.

Just be aware that the breakfast seemed very noisy and crowded. Other than that it was great (and upon check in they provided 2 buy-1-get-1-free drink coupons for their pool bar).

We have stayed here a couple of times prior to checking into our timeshare for the week. On our last trip we were in room 706, which faced out to 192. You could see the Epcot ball in the distance, as well as what I thought was probably the Tree of Life.

The elevators did seem a little slow at times, but not horrible. Breakfast was busy, but it was free and pretty decent for a free breakfast in my opinion.

Congrats on securing the good rate (we did the same thing as well and will continue to do it in the future).

What you need to do is find a good online rate for your dates and the room you would like at CSMGE. I find www.hotelmartusa.com is best, but perhaps you can find a better price. Once you find a good rate, go to www.choicehotels.com. You make the actual reservation through www.choicehotels.com. Because you are making the reservation directly through the hotel's website, you do not have to pay anything up front, and you can cancel your reservation if need be. After you make your reservation, you send through Choice Hotel's 'internet rate guarantee. As long as they can find the price you have listed, and as long as the website meets their criteria (please read rules and regulations before booking), they will match the rate and give you 10% off. I know it sounds too good to be true, but it does work.

Glad to hear the elevator isn't so bad. Think I'll go ahead and request a higher floor for a view then.

Is it OK to take any breakfast food back to the room to get away from the crowds & noise or is that discouraged there? It's no fun starting your day trying to find seats for 6 when a couple are not even awake until their morning coffee & a couple others will likely spill their plates on themselves while the search is on!

Perhaps umaangel00 is saying that the $54.51 rate does not sound very good when he/she has a $45 rate at another Comfort Inn? We needed space for 6 & were interested in other things than only fridge & MW for this trip for us so I'm happy. For now...unless I go the skyauction route in the future. Nothing's ever settled once I'm planning a WDW trip on these boards!

CdnMom2 - We have stayed there a couple of times. On our last trip I did take some food from the breakfast bar back to the room and it was not a problem at all. The breakfast bar was actually much better than your average 'free continental breakfast'.

CdnMom2 or any others that used choicehotels, how long did it take choicehotels to contact you after you filled out their rate guarantee form? I booked through them using the standard rate and filled out the form using hotelmartusa yesterday, but I haven't heard back yet. Should I be concerned?

You should hear back one way or the other. I know they had trouble finding my rate so they gave me a call to clarify a couple of things. You could also call their reservation number and see what was happening.
