Comfort Inn Maingate

We have never stayed off property in Orlando and we are looking to stay 2 nights before we start our official trip. How is Comfort Inn Maingate (7675 West Irlo Bronson (Memorial) Hwy)? The first night would be just us driving in and crashing the second day we would drive over to Disney springs and spend some time. I’m not looking for Disney resort, but I do want it to be clean and safe. So if you stayed there can I have the good & bad? Did you use the shuttle or eat the breakfast? Thanks!

We stayed there in November. It's OK. I'd say it's a little older looking, but clean. We did have a problem with our next door neighbors apparently bringing bed bugs with them into their room. The hotel was on it right away, treating the room, but one meandered into our bathroom to die (adjoining rooms), so they moved us. Breakfast was fine, though there are REALLY long lines to get it. Did not use the shuttle, or the pool. The lobby often smells like fish/seafood, as there's a seafood buffet restaurant right there. It was a quiet hotel.

Honestly, we've stayed quite a few times at what is now the Clarion Suites Maingate (was originally the Comfort Suites... they traded buildings). I actually prefer that hotel, but with all the rooms being outside, it's not quite as quiet. And the check-in/front desk service can be a little spotty. Nice rooms, though, and always clean.
