Comfort Inn, LBV- Breakfast?

We have stayed there several times (3/05, 12/06,12/08, 5/09). They offer two breakfast lines. The line to the right is for the free breakfast buffet which is a basic continental breakfast with danish, donuts, cereal, fruit, juice, coffee, milk, etc. This line is always HUGE! The other line (on the left) is a paid buffet which is a complete hot breakfast buffet; bacon, sausage, eggs, pancakes, waffles, fruit, hash brown potatoes, fruit, cereal, drinks, etc....

If you are using their transportation and want the free breakfast, get there as early as possible. We always had our own car or a rental, so it didn't matter to us. It seems that each time we went we chose to have the free breakfast only a couple of the days, the rest of the days we paid for breakfast.

We never experienced the huge breakfast lines that the PP mentioned. The free breakfast is pretty basic, but fine unless you're a big breakfast eater. Perfect for us, as we'd rather eat an early lunch in the parks to avoid the peak lunch hour rush!

Last time I stayed there they had options of the free or the paid breakfast,I can't be sure but I have seen some posts over the last couple of months that mentioned that they had removed the free breakfast option. Can anyone who's stayed there lately confirm.

I have also read somewhere recently that they only have the paid breakfast now. I would also like to know if any one could confirm this.

We just stayed there on Feb 27th - the only option for breakfast was the buffet for $4.99 person (regularly $8.99, but they gave us a $4.00 off coupon) - no free breakfast.

There is no longer a free breakfast at the Comfort Inn. We checked in today and I asked when we checked in. We do have the coupon for the discounted breakfast however.

That is too bad. It was always a great quick and easy stop for juice and quick breakfast when there was no line. :-( They must have just recently stopped, we were just there in May.

Has anyone tried the breakfast buffet here recently? We just booked and I'm wondering if we should eat here or pay a few extra dollars and go somewhere different.

We were there last week. We also stayed there last year. Based on our recent experience, I would go somewhere else. Last year, the buffet was really good, but this time, we noticed a big difference. The line was long, but moved pretty quickly. All they do is seat you. You get your own drinks, etc.
There was NO section of pastries and donuts as it was last year. They were out of french toast sticks the whole time we were having breakfast (that's a big thing we like). I even asked a worker if they were going to replenish them, but they never did while we were there. The waffle maker section was constantly running out of the batter, with people waiting. They only offer apple juice and orange juice to drink. I prefer soda or tea, but they didn't have it. They didn't have any bacon on the buffet. So the main breakfast items that we eat, were not even there, so I felt like I wasted money on it. Luckily I had a buy one get one free coupon for the buffet.

When I got the bill, I was looking over it, and at the bottom, it said "gratuity added and is based on a full buffet".
So I'm wondering why a gratuity when they didn't even do anything except seat us. We had to get our own drinks, silverware, etc. Also it was not a FULL buffet. I don't remember the exact tip amount, but on the receipt, it had that you can adjust the tip amount at the register if you wanted to.

So at the register, I told the cashier that I wanted her to take the tip off because the buffet was not full. She kinda had an attitude, but did it anyway. Another lady (manager, maybe) then came over & asked if I was taking the tip off & I said yes and there was no pastry section. She said they rotate the pastry section and only have it certain days.

If it was advertised, I would expect it to be there. I'm just glad I had the coupon, so the total was only about $9.

I'm going to write a review on the overall hotel experience soon.

I just got back from a long stay at the Comfort Inn LBV, which went quite well overall. I wanted to add my input to this thread.

We had the breakfast twice. It is $8.99 unless you have the $4 off coupon, so make sure you ask for it upon check-in. The first day we were told a waitress would come get our drink orders, but we actually never saw one. We got our own drinks just fine, along with everything else. The second time we ate there, there was a waitress who brought our drinks.

There was no line either day and the tables were about 1/2 to 2/3 full. On the buffet there was: sausage patties, bacon, breakfast potatoes, eggs, grits, biscuits & gravy, fruit, oatmeal, pancakes, cereal machines, and Mickey waffle machines. I didn't notice if there was a pastry/muffin/danish section. Food was constantly getting replenished and it was warm.

I'd say it was worth $4.99, but I probably wouldn't have paid $8.99. It was warm and filled our bellies on the mornings we wanted an actual meal. I was a bit worried based on past reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised. Maybe it's a hit-and-miss thing, but it worked out for us.
