I am thinking about staying at the Comfor Inn Lake Buena Vista on our first night prior to checking into WDW in May. Any thoughts on this hotel?

We stayed there one night in November before we checked into disney for 2 weeks. It was about like the value resorts.
The buffet for breakfast was very large and worth the price. The pool was empty most of the time.
The only advise I have is get a parking lot view otherwise you have freeway noise all night.
This hotel is near everything. Plenty of dining and shopping. The staff was just okay but for the price what can you expect.

We got a 1 night with breakfast included for $39.99 plus tax. I see this special a lot.

Thanks. Where do you usually find the $39.99 special? Roomsaver.com had it at one time but that was a coupon valid upon check in only.

I've gotten it on Hotwire twice for like $35-$40.Good hotel for the price, very big hotel with two buildings, there's a security guarded gate which is very, very rare in offsite hotels at this price. As another poster pointed out it's very close to Hotel Plaza blvd which leads to Downtown Disney so it's a good location. The free buffet is no big deal but it's free, sometimes if the hotel is crowded there could even be a wait for the free buffet. They also have a hot buffet that costs $5-$10 or so.Overall a decent hotel for the price,it's a little old but very worth the price if you can get it for under $65-$70.

we have ressies for our first night too! I couldn't justify spending almost $200 when we won't be checking in until 1am (hopefully not any later). So, we figure, the reviews were good enough and we are just sleeping there...getting up in the a.m. and heading over to POR where our family will have already checked in.

I got the rate off of a buget board post.

It was $29.99 for the room only and $39.99 for the room with the hot breakfast buffet for 4 people. I thought it was a GREAT deal. Since we checked in late and checked out early.

We went to breakfast early and there was no wait. It was pretty full though.

We may take advantage of the Travelzoo rate for a few nights in May. travelin' tigger, thanks for posting the info.

For those who've stayed there, did any of you book a Family Suite? Our DS's 17 yr. old girlfriend will probably go with us, so we need seperate beds for them. Could they stuff themselves into those beds? :p Also, what time does the full breakfast start & is it fresh? (We ate the hot buffet at Holiday Inn Sunspree in Aug & it was pathetic, very limited, stale, & picked over. We definitely didn't get our money's worth.) We were planning to eat breakfast @ WDW, but may eat the hot breakfast at the hotel, if we stay here. We'd have to pay for all 4 of us, since the kids are 17. If the quality is good, it would still be a great deal. Thanks in advance for the feedback. :)

I cant tell you about the suites. I did peek into one when we were there and they looked okay. I can tell you that the hot buffet breakfast was awesome:thumbsup2
We stayed there for a week. I found the deal on their website that for $59 i got room and free breakfast for 2, adn children were free. The buffet was open when we got up for 6:30am. The only thing I didnt like was having to wait to be seated. Ughh... if you get there too late you end up waiting. All in all, descent place with a great breakfast!

Thanks for the info. I think we'll give it a try this trip. We had it booked for a short trip last summer, but bad reviews scared us away. You guys have convinced me it's worth giving it a try. :thumbsup2

I also stayed, not in a suite but the room is very large and includes a microwave and fridge at no charge. Hotel is older but the room was always clean. I would stay again if I went down during Disney's Peak Season.

I really want to book this as it's a great price but the reviews scare me....how can some people have horrific reviews and others say they'd stay there again no problem? My youngest will be just shy of 2 y.o. when we go and I don't want to have him stay in an unhealthy place.

I think it depends on what your expectations are when you stay in any hotel. Do you scrub down everything in the room with Lysol as soon as you walk into the room even at Disney? If so, then you might want to stick with the Hilton or something like that. All I care about are clean sheets, a clean room, no sign of any kind of bugs and hopefully quiet guests. That's why if I can't stay at my 1st choice (Disney) this works out fine for me.:)

Anyone stayed in the kids suites???

We have stayed in the suite. It isn't any bigger than the regular room. They have bunk beds and a twin bed with a partition that separates them from the big bed and there are two tv's in the room, although one of ours didn't work. But it is a great deal for the price. My son was 18 at the time and he did fine in one of the small beds.

We usually rent a WH condo so I'm not really sure how Comfort Inn will compare-lol! However we can't rent one for only 3 nights w/o paying a small fortune.:confused3

This is exactly the way I feel about my stays at the CI LBV. As long as it's clean, bug-free and not too rowdy, it works for me. Also the location, for the price, is an added perk.

Any hotel is going to get a variety of reviews and as Lynn said, it all depends on your expectations. If you are expecting new, luxurious, etc., then this is NOT the hotel for you.
