comfort food?

Comfort food mmm big bag of maltesers, big bar of Milky Bar, McDonalds, crisps and dips, any food really and lots of it :rotfl:

When ill and can still eat Stovies with lashings of tomato sauce or macaroni cheese with salad cream

Geeeeeeeeeeee - I could write a book about this lol. Comfort food for me is anything savoury. I'm not a "sweet" person...:rotfl:

But off the top of my head: cold sausages (like karen) especially in soft white bread and with ketchup, any sort of "fast food", pasties, crisps, sausage rolls, sandwiches....

Oh dear...:sad2:

And when I'm ill...I still eat  Anything carby, but not anything too rich in flavour. I think I've only lost my appetite once in the last 5 years?!

This is not good being so close to the dieting thread!! ;):lmao:

unsliced white bread with lurpak, cheese and hula hoops, yum!!!

I dont eat anything sweet, so my comfort food would have to be crisps, or dips (or both at the same time);)

And it has to be Heinz tomato soup with buttered toast when im poorly:lovestruc

:goodvibes thanks guys for helping with my research, carbs cause a blood sugar "high" hence us craving them when ill, or low.
it is interesting the foods you crave, the chocolate i get but cold sausages???:lmao:
im with kenny tho, ill eat anything, hence my weight problem :rotfl:
id love some more people to add their comfort foods as its interesting...

as to the question about fruit salad, this is a classic "first" practical to see if kids can use knifes and tidy up, i do blueberry muffins- they are fun and idiot proof...all the kids, however accurately they weigh and measure, still manage to make them;)

It IS intriguing! I guess for me the 'cold sausages' thing is another one of the immediate solutions - they've already been cooked and are in my fridge... Just waiting to be scoffed... ;)

My explanation for a cold sausage:

I hate eating hot food (hot as in temperature and not as in spice) - pizza, pasta, meat, sausages, rice etc etc - I much prefer my food cold.

That combined with the fact that i LOVE :lovestruc sausages = cold sauages :)

Oooh how curious, Tracy. And the yoghurt/ice cream thing, makes me :scared1: !!!

I got into the habit of eating and drinking everything super hot when my DD (now 27) was a baby. I just ate and drank everything quickly so it didn't interrupt me tending to her.

but i still dont get the cold sausage thingy:rotfl2:
Then you really, REALLY should try it!!! ::yes:: :rotfl2: :thumbsup2 Go on, go on, go on, go on, go on... Oh my - I'm having a Mrs Doyle moment!!!

I totally get the cold sausage thing - OMG that is me!

However, for a comfort meal it would have to be pasta, pasta and more pasta.

This is so gross but my current obsession is M&S burger mayo - I'm not happy unless it's on EVERYTHING. And sometimes it doesn't even have to be on anything.....gross I know :guilty:

Oh no - I'm with you!!! M&S Burger Mayo rocks!!! :worship: :worship: :worship: I had to stop buying it...

And if you like cold sausages, you have to try the Waitrose Sweet Chilli ones... :cloud9:

When we can't be bothered to cook and feeling a little low, I love pre-prepared cheesy mash and cauliflower cheese.

When Im poorly, I eat pringles by the tube and love vanilla ice cream with red-cherry pie filling (warmed in the micowave) poured on top!!!!!!!

Comfort food....mmmmm I'm sitting here eating a bowl of crisps! and they are definately comfort food ;)

Dry toast when I'm ill :thumbsup2
