as most of you know, i teach food technology/home economics/cookery;) depending on how old you are:lmao:
yesterday i was talking to my yr 10s about comfort food, what we eat/drink when we are sad/unhappy.
i would be interested to know my dis friends comfort foods, and what you eat when you are ill:sick:
only as i nosy, but also professional research:rolleyes1
tracy

ill start, i eat cheese and potato pie and baked beans when im ill, and my comfort food are haribo cola bottles:laughing:

Omg m8 how long you got? my comfort food is most definatly chocolate but I also love anything high in carbs !!
When im ill i tend not to eat if im made to eat i go for soup and nice rolls !!

my comfort foods are, cheese, crisps and ice cream or anything with caramel

if im not well I always want soup or beans on toast

Comfort food has to quick and immediate for me so definitely baked beans with cheese, hula hoops, crisps, and cheese (preferably brie) and tomatoes on crackers with pickled onions on the side - all the savouries!!!

If I'm unwell, I invariably make bacon and eggs, always works... :thumbsup2

in the winter chicken pie, soup, the summer, sausages lol!

Ooooh yeah, sausages!!! :thumbsup2 Especially cold ones... I cooked 6 for my sons dinner earlier (sweet chilli ones, delish!!!) and "found" myself scoffing two, without a second thought!!!

If I'm ill (but still got an appetite) it's chicken soup, tomato soup, stew and dumplings, or boiled egg and soldiers!! :rotfl2:

If I'm sad it's chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate ...... and Mr Kipling's French Fancies, especially the yellow ones, absolutely my most favourite cakes ever!

If Im stressed or worried I cant eat at all, If Im sad or lonely, my comfort food is Pizza, pasta, fresh cream cakes, and crisps.

When Im ill I always always go for toast.:)

comfort food tends to be chocolate (green and blacks white  or old school cadburys) or cake, preferably cherry, Madeira or pumpkin, dont like chocolate for some reason. When im ill, i tend to eat utter junk, pizza, chips etc stuff that requires minimal preparation or the least involvement during cooking.

Fried chicken is a real poorly or depressed comfort food for me.

oh and humbugs or uncle joes mint balls when im sick, (due to working in a air conditioned office i get sniffles and bad throats more than anything else) these are great for helping and dont need to be rationed like lockets or halls.

To be honest I am not sure I have a comfort food - I tend to eat just about anything I love the taste of anyway so to say I am eating it because I am unhappy would be stretching the truth somewhat :lmao:

Just before I get ill I start to crave milk. I don't know why but when I start to reach for the milk by the cow-full I know something is brewing. Then when I am ill I reach for the toast and biscuits (rich tea or ginger preferably)

Comfort food has to be extra mature cheese on toast with HP sauce. When I'm ill, I don't eat much.

My comfort food is chocolate, peanut butter (straight from the jar), if I have neither of those I'll trawl the kitchen for anything sweet or bready.

I don't really have any illness foods but find I go off coffee and drink copious amounts of tea instead.

Hmm comfort food is nutella, straight from the jar with a dessert spoon! I also like lightly salted doritos, and toffee popcorn.

When I'm I'll I tend to crave salty food or cheese, either that or I don eat at all :)

Crusty bread (preferably white) and some kind of cheese with fruit in it is my usual savoury comfort food, good old chocolate for sweet :goodvibes
When i'm ill I tend to go for lots of hot drinks, baked potatoes, plain pasta, crackers, carby things!

oh gosh, chips with grated melted cheese on, baked potato with cheese and beans, cheesecake, rubarb crumble/ cherry pie/ apple crumble with tons of cream, beef stew and dumplings.

all stodgy, all filling, it is interesting how most of us reach for carbs to make ourselves feel better!

This is mine too....needs to have been in the fridge for a little while:cool1: Trouble is, I could eat the whole jar:rotfl: and as I'm on I diet, I no longer buy Nutella.....I now have to settle for a curly wurly....there's no calories in air:rotfl:

If I'm ill.....it has to be supper noodles....they are so bad, but good at the same time:rotfl2:

I just love the fact that over the years, the name has changed so many times....I don't even understand why....I'm sure it's just to make us feel old:rotfl:

My DS has just started comp and he came home all excited because he was going to cook in school..........he told me he had a list of ingredients that I would need to buy.....anyway, he's COOKING Fruit Salad:rotfl:now, where is the cooking in that:laughing:
Maybe it's me, but I think this is a bit too basic, my DD regulary peels and chops fruit and veg, so he's not going to learn anything new from this. Sorry gone a bit OT

Scrambled eggs. Whether I'm feeling depressed or slightly poorly, I go for scrambled eggs. This is mostly to do with the fact that this was all I ate when my front teeth were knocked out (as it's all I could eat) so has somehow become a subconscious thing with me.

My comfort foods are ice cream, baked mac & cheese, sweets, or anything nice and warm will usually brighten up my mood.

Whenever I feel ill I reach for soup or mashed potatoes.

comfort food!!! on a nice hot day... Tuna Sandwich and lotsa Ice Ice tea!! On winter time.. I love my brown rice and chicken in soy sauce and alot of cookies.. all kind of cookies!!!:goodvibes
