Comerica Bank customers

Is anyone a Comerica Bank customer, because I am not. I've been looking all over their website to find out the fee to stop payment on a check. I'm trying to find that out for my elderly neighbor. She sent a rather large check on July 12th, and it was never received by the addressee. She'd like to stop payment tomorrow and write another check out, and hand deliver it, instead of the mail.

Anyone know what the stop payment fee is at Comerica Bank? I think if she has as much information as possible today, she'll stop being so nervous and anxious about this.

Call the bank and they should be able to tell you. I bank with Chase and had to stop payment check once and I called them and they were able to do it over the phone. I can't remember the fees but I think it was something like $20.

I found this, it looks like $33. I don't bank w/ them, just found through google, so not 100% it is the checking account she uses...

Cautiously suggesting ... Is the addressee someone whom your neighbor pays regularly such as the electric company? If so it might not be necessary to stop the check; if/when the check clears she cross references it with the electric bill or whatever and notify the recipient to credit her account accordingly if not already credited.

I work in the banking industry and most banks charge anywhere from 20 to 40 dollars per a stop payment. I know my bank that I work for charges 34.00 per an item. It is a rather large fee. Comerica bank is probably around 30 to 35.00 dollars.
