This thread is for first world Disney related problems, lol. First and foremost, I'm thrilled Disneyland has reopened. When it first did, I was under the impression that it would stay at low capacity for quite a while. I watched Disney YouTuber videos that showed the park as practically a ghost town. So of COURSE I was ecstatic that I would get to experience Disneyland at 35% capacity. I mean, what a once in a lifetime chance!!! As time went on, I thought it was amazing that the days I'm going weren't getting filled up, and they still aren't. And I'm leaving in 2 days! Only to find out recently the capacity is way more than 35% even though nobody really knows the exact number. Anyway, I'm just pouting since my time at Disneyland more than likely will not be Walk-Ons. Other than that, I love being around people, and happy that more cast members are returning to work.

We leave for Cali tomorrow. We started planning in April just after the reopening was announced even though it was clear out of staters weren't welcome yet, we figured all the other info surrounding Newsoms policies that it'd be open to everyone by June.

We too were hopeful for low crowds after experiencing WDW at near ghost town levels in January. I really thought locals would get tired of paying per day without an AP by August, lol.

Oh well, looking at wait times throughout the day, I think it's pretty clear you'll have lots of low waits in the morning, especially if you aren't focused solely on headline attractions. We're ready for whatever happens. It's going to be a great trip.

I don't know if this makes you feel better or worse, but I went before it opened up to out-of-state visitors and it was definitely not all walk-ons and streets paved with free churros. Waits for some rides were even longer than pre-pandemic because of the social distancing, and a lot of food places were still closed so getting a meal of any sort was a challenge. And you had to wear masks outdoors as well as indoors, in the hot sun. I'm all for safety but that didn't make it any more enjoyable.

Look at it this way -- you're getting in before AP's come back, so you'll probably still get a much less crowded experience than if you were to go a month later. And, it's still Disneyland

We went in late-May, I wanted longer park hours (we are night people), but I didn't want to book it so far in the future, we would miss the lower capacity numbers.

I went May 24-25 and I think we overshot by a few days, our wait times were a bit higher than what was being advertised by the early adopter crowd. Oh well, you win some, you lose some! We still had max wait times of 30-35 minutes briefly, at the worst.

My gut says as schools are coming back online (and delta variant making the rounds), the parks will return to their former empty September state soon.
