Come to the Dark Side...4 Weekends of Fun with the Force(Updated 11/12)

Would it disappoint you all if I throw in some Disney updates that are not Star Wars related. We ventured out yesterday for the first time in a couple weeks. We went to a Disney park for lunch and to get a new Duffy accessory. I'd love to share our adventure if you're all game. .

Would love to hear about your visit this weekend!

As you know I throw random stuff into my TRs. I say any Disney update definitely fits ;).

We were also surprised when we did not see the Storm Troopers on the roof this year. We got there very early and thought we might be too early so we waited and waited but they never showed up. We were glad to see them when we finally got through the entrances but I prefer them on the roof:)

Awesome pixiedust: to be invited into the Parade :cool1:.

You got some really great parade pictures it must have been an amazing experience for JJ to be in it.

I hate that JJ had to wait in the heat. I think sometimes it is better to ask the CMs when you get there rather than call ahead because the people you talk to when you call do not have a good idea of how things really work.

I agree with you, I prefer them on the roof too.

He was in heaven being in the parade!

That queue is not very well thought out. I've been trying to remember where we waited when that theater housed the Hunchback show years ago? Does anyone remember?

Asking on the spot sure didn't help the cancer patient either. Another friend of ours had trouble with that queue too. My friend's son has autism. He made it a half an hour in the line. Then he got very anxious and they had to get out of line and completely missed the show. In fact, he got that anxious from that queue that they even had to leave the park.

I felt bad for him, but also for his mother. She is a huge Warwick Davis fan and it was her hope that day to do just two things. M&G with Chewie and see Stars of the Saga. Neither of those things got done.

Would love to hear about your visit this weekend!

My next post after this will be an update from the weekend, then some newer merchandise that caught my eye.

As you know I throw random stuff into my TRs. I say any Disney update definitely fits ;).

I am enjoying your TR! Yesterday's pics coming up next.

You know me I would love to see it all. Especially if it is Duffy related!!

This is not Star Wars related, but it is Disney relate. After being stuck in the house for a couple weeks due to health issues, we decided it was time for JJ to venture out. He was going stir crazy.

If you've followed our other reports, you'll remember that JJ loves Duffy. His Duffy has gone to countless appointments and tests. When I saw on facebook that there was a new Sully costume, I showed it to him. His eyes brightened and his smile lit his face.

Dh and I decided to give in and get another Tables in Wonderland card. I know, I know. I said we weren't going to due to the price increase this year. But we already would have been ahead of the game had we got it in January when our old one expired. I made an ADR The Plaza Restaurant. It's one of our favorites.

I got a text from Nikkibell that the MK was empty. She was seeing 10 minute waits. That was a great sign! We got to the TTC. It was beginning to get busy with people. The monorail line was long, but the ferry was empty. So we headed there and got there just as they opened the gate to enter. We no sooner got seated, and they were closing it up and casting off!

The Construction

Our first stop once we entered the park was to guest services for a new GAC. After reading the boards lately, I expected a big hassle. Our experience was the same as usual. The only difference was a 2 week expiration date instead of a 2 month one. The cm apologized for the expiration date change. There was no need for the apology. We also got our TiW card at the same time. Our next stop was to get the Sully costume for Duffy. I can't find a single picture of this. How could I forget?!

We were too early for our lunch reservation so we went behind the Christmas shoppe and got the Sorcerer's cards. Here we did run into problems. Changing our tickets from paper to the new plastic ones changed things in some way. The one cm didn't know how to fix it, but another cm showed her and said we should be good from here.

It was time for our reservation so we headed there. The castle Dreams Come True show was going on. It was so loud that I could not hear the cm at the podium and she couldn't hear me. I gave her the printout from my reservation. She handed it back to me when she was finished along with the pager.

We sat down on the ledge outside of the restaurant and FlyingPegasus and her daughter saw us sitting and said hello. Fly recommended the club. It was so nice to see them again. Back in the day we spent lots of fun playing VMK and ghost busting.

What are the chances? We ended up with the same server as the last time we ate there in December! She remembered us and it was like old times. She became family last time. Bet you didn't know that The Plaza is an Ohana for us? In no time, Chef Ken was out to see us too. Lots of love and hugs there. He is family to us, not like family. He sat down and took ALL of our orders, while catching up on what's been going on in each other's lives since the last time. Dh ordered the club and fries, JJ got the kids grilled chicken and fries, and I ordered a banana split without chocolate or nuts. I've always wanted dessert and always been too stuffed to get it. I did order a cup of chicken potato soup. I love that soup!!

Chef Ken remembered that JJ loves grapes. He asked our server to bring some grapes.

I didn't take pictures of the soup, chicken, or club sandwich. But I did remember the dessert pictures.

JJ with Chef Ken

Please note the COLOR of Chef Ken's name tag. It's BLUE!! This is a huge honor. Not many people have blue name tags! He has many years of service and was nominated and won this privilege of wearing a blue tag. He was one of 33 people awarded when he got this out of the 500 or so that were nominated! We are so proud of him. It's very much deserved. When the Mayor stopped in to announce who the junior mayor was, he also took the time to recognize Chef Ken to those dining.

After lunch we went to check out the new interactive Pirate Adventure. We all enjoyed this game. It's quick (takes about 15 minutes to complete a quest). There are 5 quests in all.

He was so excited for this stop. He was to find the compass rose. He was so excited because this is one of his vocabulary words from his geography class.

We did two quests. He wanted to do more, but we could see he was too hot. To cool off, we gave him the choice of Hall of Presidents or Tink's M&G. He chose the M&G. He didn't really want to do either, but he chose that since he knows mom likes Tink.

Here he is being asked if he has fire flies in his shoes?

Tink was so digusted that he did a pirate's adventure. She doesn't like pirates!

Up next the 4th of July Pre-Parade part of the Limited Time Magic.

Sounds like you had fun! That is always good.

There is a Chef in Disneyland that has been there since the park opened in 1955. Oscar spends more time with guests than in the kitchen now. He is quite the celebrity. He is the person that created the recipe for the breakfast potatoes that are served in the park and the potatoes soup.

I look forward to hearing more.

I can't believe I didn't take a picture of Duffy in his outfit!

Wow, opening day at Disneyland. How cool is that!

Did I ever tell you that my best friends daughter bought me a Duffy for my birthday?

I saw on facebook. I was so happy for you. I know how much you love Duffy. In fact, we were going to send you one when the fire first happened. But after talking it over with dh we decided on what we did. I'm so happy your best friend's daughter got you a Duffy!!

Danielle is a very thoughtful girl. I appreciate all the help we got at that time.

I love the picture from the parade. I miss the Main Street Electrical Parade.

What a great "outside SWW" update! Such a nice day!! I may have to try the Plaza in the fall. I have never ate there... but probably should, yes?

Love the parade!

Sure sounds like she is!

Thanks. We still have MSEP for now, but Spectromagic is gone by the wayside to make way for a new parade!

Love the parade!

Thank you! Please give the Plaza a try in the fall. The salad with strawberries is really good. I usually get the tuna salad on croissant. Dh usually gets a steak sandwich. I'll definitely get the soup again.

One of the perks (for me the shopper) of trying to keep JJ cool is ducking into the stores to cool off. Before the parade we did a little window shopping and browsing. I was a woman on a mission. To find the purchase with purchase offer of the new Mickey Mouse back pack. This offer was not at the MK. So I talked my family into stopping at DTD on the way home to see if TrenD was still offering it.

Anyway, back to the "new" finds at MK. This merchandise may have been new or it may have been on the shelves for a while at Disney. But it was the first time I spotted them.

Uptown Jewelers is one of my favorite stores to browse. I love the displays. If you've followed my reports, you know I'm a fan of the Harvey's seat belt bags. Uptown Jewelers did not disappoint. They had fabulous displays of Harvey's.

I'm not really into the D&B bags, but this display was gorgeous.

Other displays that caught my eye.

Disney's own line of make up

Minnie merchandise

Mickey shoes

Cell phone stand

All caught up ! :thumbsup2

Wonderful updates ! That heat sure is tough .. we're having lot's of heat here and many people just don't know what to do with themselves .. but even the most experienced people can get caught off guard !

Love all the pics ! Sure makes me wish I was back there again ! :(

Some day I want to get myself a Disney purse .. just haven't figured out which one ! :goodvibes

love your SWW update! sorry about having to wait in the heat and you felt yucky from it!

I'm always making sure everyone else stays hydrated. It caught me way off guard the next weekend.

Thanks. Is there a next Disney trip in the making?

The different hand bags are great! There are some very affordable ones and some not so affordable ones. There are so many totes I'd love, but they just don't zipper. I'd be too afraid something important would fall out. If they made a Tink Harvy's purse, it would be hard to walk away from it for me. I hope you find your bag some day.

Thanks. The odd thing, I didn't feel yucky until after I ate. That's why I didn't even give dehydration of heat a consideration.

I hope you have an excellent dining experience there. We really like it there.

The patriotic parade was short but fun. I should have sprinted over to city hall to get a picture of Pluto. I did get a couple nice shots of his back though, lol.

Wait til you see all the new merchandise in person!

I'm so far behind! That's what I get for going out of town to visit my family in Oregon! Had a great time but sure am glad to be back home.

Love how Ashley came up and talked to JJ. That was very sweet of her to apologize. Glad JJ was able to participate in the parade. Love his smile! Amazing costumes! I could only imagine how hot they were when out walking in the sun! Glad you were able to start feeling better. Dehydration is no fun!!

Glad you guys were able to get out after being cooped up for the last couple weeks. Really hope the choking spells subside. Poor JJ and you too! I'm sure it's scary and hard to stay clam but it sounds like your doing a great job at it.

Sounds like a big road trip? or did you fly? Glad you had a great time with family.

She is super sweet.

We all needed out! Grumpy is heading on his own vacation tomorrow. He's doing another fishing trip. He needs a break from everything going on here too.

He had several episodes yesterday. :(

We drive. To expensive for a family of 5 to fly. Plus it's actually kind of insane if we were to try to fly to my parent's. We'd fly out of SFO into Portland (Northern Oregon) and back down to Klamath Falls (Southern Oregon). Just not feasible. It's about a 6 1/2 hour drive when we stop to eat but if we drive straight through with no stops it takes us about 5 1/2 hours. Our kids are great travelers so we're fine driving. Plus it's really nice to have our own vehicle.

Glad Grumpy is getting out to!

Oh no! That's not good! Hope today is going better!
