Just spent 2 wonderful hours reading your reports when I should have been working/tending the kids

HAHA, sounds familiar! I did all my errands, cleaned up and have 3 kids here (one is my 1 year old nephew) and I have Ashley on baby watch...they are playing right next to me on the floor while I read trip reports here! Don't tell TC! haha

HAHA...Time is crepping up on us isn't it ? But yet at the same time it is SOOOOO far away.

Ok...let me back up to when we arrived home..

I promised TC that we would wait for a bit before heading back to Disney, but if a good deal came along we'd make a short week there. He informed me he now really liked WDW (a convert!) and wanted to go back with the kids---but don't rush it...SO I didn't...(at least in front of him) and I patiently watched for codes to come out for September when I planned to return. THe last week of Sept to be exact--same dates as last year.

But then sadness takes over when we are told in March that Ashley is moving UP the retention list and may have to repeat 5th grade...How responsible will we be if we take her out 3 weeks into her repeat year? SO I dumped all plans and started focusing on her and her education...UNTIL-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FREE DINING was rumored...And I can't pass it up---but when would I go? Not in August--no way, too hot...or so I thought. (We ended up being told Ash was PASSING ONTO 6TH!!!) We could go as a surprise for the kids for their birthdays. The plan starts into motion and then I ask a friend if her and her family wanted to go.

They got REALLY excited! SO the planning starts (before free dining was announced) and we were to go down 8/27-9/1 since that was all her Dfi could get off from work.

I tell her about the rumors that were becoming clearer and I start changing my dates. I book 2 days @ CSR for 8/24 and 8/25 and wait..Then her Dfi announces there will be no WDW this year---they had a MAJOR financial issue and it needed to be dealt with. I wish I had the $$, I would foot their bill, they have NEVER been on vacation yet alone WDW!

She said she wasn't going to scrap all hope. She'd keep the idea open *just in case*. FYI, they still aren't going.

So suddenly the announcement is made. Disney Visa holders could book starting Monday and us other folk would wait till Thursday. Well my mom asks if I want to use her Visa and I agree--we'd book in full and I'd pay her. But the wait time on hold was...FOREVER and she needed to leave for work. At this point the trip is a surprise for the kids so we were in hiding.

I tell her it's fine and we'd call that evening. We do and low and behold---CSR is fully booked, no free dining rooms left. BUMMER. So I decide to wait with all the other people for Thursday and just book on my own, hoping CSR will open up by then.

They usually go camping with us and go everywhere we can take them...My babies--Chance (the big guy on the right) is a 5 year old boxer and Emmy is the petite lil 15 (Yup, 15) year old rescue. ( I volunteer for Boxer Buddies Rescue out of New England)

Just found in the archives, Trae's first "Memory" trip. This was the 2004 trip when we went to see my Grampy in FL. We spent 2 days on WDW soil but only did MK and DTD.

See Trae's look of confusion in this next pic? Well this lil girl jumped in our photo and wouldn't move when her parents asked, so I asked her to stay and be in the photo with us. If it's anyones daughter here---HELLO!!!! LOL

They really are the best (sorry I am biased). I have been a volunteer with boxer rescue for 5 years and I love their quirky personalities. I have fostered SO many and have transported and rescued quite a few. I just adore them. If you have any photos of Sam I'd love to see

That photo was pretty crazy. I like looking back at it and I get a laugh. I felt so bad for her..she just wanted it to be her turn already!

I want to post more of my pre trippie but I am having nosey kid syndrome right now...I just got off the phone with CRO and had to change a tour (one of the surprises) and they were right behind me, practically hanging on my every word..I was using code words and the poor CM must have been SO confused! HAHAHA

Your dogs are so gorgeous! There is something about a rescue dog....I don't know if they know you saved them or what but they are the kindest, sweetest, most loving dogs ever.

We now interupt this Pre Trippie to skip ahead and show what arrived today:

A SECOND SET of everything! WOOHOOO...Since I have 2 packages I wasn't even thinking I'd get a second set of everything...That means 8 castle luggage tags, 2 sets of all the vouchers (we'll do searaycers twice anyway), 16 DME tags (except one set bring us to the wrong place...)

Ok, now back to your scheduled program...

What happened next...

So I decide to wait with all the other people for Thursday and just book on my own, hoping CSR will open up by then.

I am on the phone first thing Thursday morning. I had to be at work and knew that a shower wasn't in the cards for me today---after all, who cares if I smell? I am getting FREE DINING and the usual "what if EVERYTHING sells out within the first few hours" blah blah blah..that is all that mattered to me.

1 hr and 47 minutes later they pick up, I am finally on the phone with CRO....but what?? They don't have ANY vacancy @ CSR? The CM tells me to pick somewhere else and then keep calling back. So I book:

POR Water View
7 Day MYW PHP
Free dining

then I check on my other ressie of :
CSR Water View
1 Day base
PAID dining

Totals came out more then I would have liked since we had to get the 1 day base for each of us on our PAID dining part but oh well--FOOOD!!!!!

Now to choose where to eat and where to go on what day---consult with my trusted TGM and make a Wordperfect Document where I could easily make changes...Better then my scribble pages I decided I can't post--they are scarey.

As easily as every other time I've joined TGM I had my park days picked and my ADR's to make within just a day of making my ressies.

I actually bought a few items for the dogs in DTD last trip...I can't WAIT to pcik some more stuff up---so cute.

Don't feel Bad I was about ten on My first trip to Disney & there was no such thing as Video Cameras back then so I don't even have that to go back & look at!!!

So today though I have no time and need to get ready for work I thought I'd do a quick post just to put a photo up of the calendar the kids made...I printed the calendar and put the #'s but they decorated it...Look a little "busy" but they are happy with it.

They can't wait till tomorrow to start putting their Mickey Mouse stickers over the days....Do you know what that means??? 1 month from tomorrow!!! WOOT WOOT!

See the lil airplane Ashley drew on the day we leave? She is a nut. I thought it was a nice touch

Miss Michelle, Have really enjoyed your pre-trippie! I have always loved boxers. My favorite aunt had a brindle and white for many years. Unfortunately, she (the dog, for those who don't understand dog deseases), developed hip displacement so terrible that she had to be put down. My aunt could never get another dog after Queenie. Good wishes for your babies!

I see that you are arriving the day after we are!!! We will be August 23-31st at All Star Music! Will be looking for you! We will have the lgmhs any place you look!! And one of my DGDs will have a lime green baggileni. So if you see us, 2 10yr old girls, a blonde gramma 5'9, stop and say hi!!!!
