Most people who don’t want the vaccine have had the virus. Those people are safer than vaccinated people.

Yep. Exactly. I hadn’t had the vaccine before we got COVID because I wasn’t eligible yet when I got it. The kids and I got Covid from my healthcare worker husband who got it from work despite masking and such there. At this point, I feel like my family has given enough in so many ways. I’m happy about this decision by Universal.

They aren’t enforcing anything nor requiring anything of anyone. They specifically stated they are “expecting” those who aren’t fully vaccinated to wear a mask, not requiring it. Take my kids for example. We all got COVID within the last few months. They’re just as protected as those who are vaccinated and never had COVID according to every recent study that’s been done. DH and I got COVID with symptoms and got the vaccine. Let people choose what they want to do which is exactly what Universal is doing. If people are uncomfortable with it, they are welcome to decide Universal isn’t for them at this time.

So this is my big question if they are going to force them on children under the age of 12. We are going the first week of June and I am so excited but I have a 12-year-old who is not vaccinated and is not getting vaccinated and then I have a nine-year-old, I am really hoping that they are not forcing it on kids because if you’re not gonna double check adults which I’m totally fine with than you shouldn’t be forcing it on children because you don’t really know which adults are vaccinated either. I could care less either way I’m sick of the masks I don’t wanna wear them and I’m sick of forcing my children to wear them. Hersheypark in Pennsylvania has on their website that vaccinated adults don’t have to wear masks but children under the age of 12 are still required to so they are actually enforcing it on children, and I hate that universal isn’t giving more detail.

I am beyond excited!!! We leave for Universal 1 month from today. My crowd is vaccinated and we all also had the virus. There's a LOT of people that had the virus that won't take the vaccine. So when you pair vaccinated people with people that have been infected, I think the immunity rate goes up significantly. Either way, if you're not comfortable not wearing a mask, then by all means mask up. But as for me and mine, we're going naked faced!!

Good question.. I mean every child under 12 should be wearing a mask based on that assessment, minus under 2 (if that's the cut off, I can't recall). I have an 11 yr old not vaccinated, she would have been more likely wearing outside as well, and we would wear if need be when people are too close and can't keep their distance, and will probably still do so even the other 3 of us are vaccinated.

Many studies have made the news this week saying people who had Covid are protected for at least one year. Their antibody and memory B cell levels were higher 1 year after infection than those who were vaccinated but never had Covid at 1 year after their last vaccine dose.

Denmark put out a study in November that stated mask were insignificant in slowing the spread. Ontario Nurses Association won two cases in 2015 and 2018 in "Mask or Vaccine lawsuit", in freaking Canada for goodness sakes. The Court stated that the evidence presented the govenment to force nurses to "Mask or Vaccinate" was "ILOGICAL and UNREASONABLE"!

Here’s the exact working from Universal under the Face Coverings Section:

“Face coverings are optional for fully vaccinated guests. Non-vaccinated guests are asked to wear face coverings at all indoor locations.”

In another section, it says expected, and in another it says encouraged. It no longer says “required” on the Universal page with regards to making people wear face coverings. It says those who are vaccinated are no longer “required” to wear them. This is a legal jargon game. They didn’t put “face coverings are required” anywhere on purpose this time.

Yes I’m anxious to hear what it’s really like. Everyone is different but I’d prefer to not force my kids to wear them. I’m willing to take risks.

UO is just following the CDC recommendations, which is what the pro-maskers have been promoting all along. Seems weird that OU following those CDC recommendations is suddenly "pre-mature"...

I can agree with that, every person should be responsible for the choice, I was just more curious whether they will enforce the kids wearing masks, since they know they aren't vaxed yet. Guess we'll find out very sooN!

Does anyone know if they’re allowing people to take off face coverings today or if it definitely starts tomorrow? It’s already on their website, so I’m wondering if they’re allowing it today. A few people said the employees told them it went into effect today.

Its premature because we know a very large part of the anti-maskers and anti-vaxers will lie through their teeth about their status just to take their masks off. If everyone was actually vaccinated the issue wouldn't exist. But sadly we just cant trust a lot of our fellow citizens to do the right thing. Universal and Disney know this but they just want the couple billion back they both just lost over the last 18 months.

How would you know a kid’s age by looking at them? My 9 (almost 10) year old looks like he could be 11 or 12. My friend’s 12 year old looks like he’s 9. Slippery slope there.
