Well just venting here! As I am sure DL execs scan this board, this is really for them, but i sense there are others ready to vent on this too!We have a party of eight, paying a pretty reasonable sum to stay at the GCH, for four nights.

I am now within the 60 day window for a trip, yet there is no schedule of entertainment up and no clear information available on WOC. :headache: Will it be running at all? Weekends? One show a night? Will there be FPS for GRR? When? That is just unsatisfactory.

It's further complicated by the extension of Halloween into mid-September. that's great, but where's the info? ...Will fireworks be running? Which ones?

I know here we can all make educated guesses, but that simply isn't good enough. I really don't think that WOC is an unknown quantity anymore - it's popular, so get on and put it on the schedule. And sort out Halloween!

From Miceage:
Editor's Note 7/24-26: As summer rolls along, World of Color's popularity is growing by the week, DCA dinner sales are huge despite the weak economy, and Fastpasses are selling out earlier each day. With all that good news, Team Disney Anaheim is getting very close to entirely banishing the 6PM weekday closing times in the off-season that DCA has had for the past decade. Later this week TDA should give the final blessing to year-round 8PM weekday closing times in the off-season, beginning this September, with at least one World of Color show performed daily on weekdays at 8:15PM. The weekend hours at DCA this fall will offer at least a 10PM closing with multiple shows per night. In the meantime, TDA really needs to get the reservation agents at the 781-DINE line to stop telling callers that World of Color gets shut down completely after Labor Day and goes "seasonal", as nothing could be further from the truth. There's got to be a better way to phrase that. - Al Lutz

I'm with you! I'll be there Sept. 14-19 and I would love a full fledged entertainment schedule so I can start planning!

I'm pretty sure the Disney execs have no idea this board even exists....I really doubt they will see your post, but you do bring up good points, they really should have the calender posted at least 60 days in advance.

I like to voice my complaints on the Disney Parks Blog now :thumbsup2

Trust me, they see that!

You should have seen the holy hell unleashed when they said they were going to cancel Aladdin in favor of Toy Story. I'd like to think all of us on the parks blog had something to do with them deciding to keep it around.

I think they can't post the schedule that far ahead because they are making it up as they go along! :rotfl:

About Aladdin- I thought I read somewhere that they are keeping Aladdin because they want to redo the theater anyway and there was no point in shutting down the show, starting a new one, and then closing it for a remodel. I must have read that on Mice Age. Although I'm sure people wanting to keep Aladdin probably helped them decide to keep it longer. Toy Story is still planned last I heard.

I really doubt like Pixiewings stated, the Disney execs do not care about what this board or a blog. Aladdin was a change in time management priorities. If you made and do not like it, don't go. A soon you vote with your money you vote for the decisions they make. I am sure schedules are not commited for some time frames that have been mentioned. I would like ammo prices to come down but the wars or what ever are taking up the resources so I have pay thru the nose to be able to shoot. My two bits.

Oh I agree ... we can book dining etc 60 days out but need to know the entertainment schedule in order to book dining!

I agree, I would like them to put the schedule up 6 months out. TDA I think is overwhelmed and try to do the best for the masses which in my opinion are not the planners.

I agree Jack, WoC through a wrench into thier planning.

Mostly DL doesn't schedule far out like WDW because the trips people take to DL are a quarter the size and take proportionately less planning.

But if you can reserve things in the park like dining, they should be able to provide the entertainment schedule for the same dates.

I think that this is closest to the truth. The poupularity of the WOC show AND the Glow fest has them scratching their heads trying to decide what to do. At first Glow Fest was temporary entertainment, but it's gotten such good reviews from the people who have seen it, that they might keep it too. Even if they post a schedule, it will be subject to change.

First, I feel so much better1:rotfl2:

Second, whilst you are all right about making it up as they go along, I wonder if they're getting confused....getting it right for some customers would be just making a decision!

Finally, for the unbelievers out there...most companies monitor twitter, blogs , and forums as a free way of getting customer feedback (they used to have to buy it from research firms;)). Disney's own site is just one avenue for them, and I have no doubt a meltdown there might penetrate the marketing meeting agenda. Yes, you probably did help keep aladdin (if that's what everyone wanted!)Some poor person is probably wading through comments right now trying to figure out what to do with glo fest etc.

The question isn't whether they know about it, but whether they act on it!

Anyway, fingers crossed for schedule some time soon!

I know what you mean! We will be there September 25-30 and want to know what's up with the shows and such. Grr...

I'm pretty sure the Disney execs have no idea this board even exists....

Sure they do.

When I was there for the World of Color premiere, we introduced ourselves to one of our escorts as being from the DIS Boards. He recognized the name right away and said they use the DIS Boards for research. "When is spring break in Arizona?? Check the DIS Boards."

That's so cool! We have a reputation to uphold!!

I was just boasting on the November Check-In thread that we on the DIS scooped MouseSavers on the official start date of the DLR holiday season. (They were like a week behind us, at least!) That's right - the DIS...breaking all the big news!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::thumbsup2

Also, when you go on to the DLR website and do one of their pop-up surveys, there is usually one question in there where they ask you which websites (other then the DLR website) you use to help plan a DLR vacation. Mice Age is one of the choices. I think Mouse Planet is on there. And, of course....DISboards is right there too!! Out of all the Disney-related sites that are out there, we are one of only a few mentioned in the DLR survey for websites to help plan. So someone out there in exec-land knows about us, for sure!

And, of course, as we all know, most of the CMs know about us (or are even members of the DIS). Last time I was at Goofy's Kitchen I told the CM at the photo spot near the entrance that I was a mod on a DLR planning message board/forum, and I was keeping a close eye on their service to report back to my board. The CM instantly snapped to attention - "Oh? Which board?" I told him it was the DIS, and he nodded in definite familiarity, and said, "Oh! Okay!! Yeah, I know that one!"

I think the diff about CM's knowing about the boards and a 6 figure exec is two different things. I have gotten to know a couple of CM's real well and we talk about the boards all the time, but TDA people looking at the complaining on the boards and then acting on peoples complaints(vents) is a bit far reached even on a good day.Disney does a huge amount of on site research based on established pre determined questions. We do about 3 surveys every trip, not one ever asked, "Do you have any further comments or complains."

People continue to vote with their dollars and the attendance continues to rise no matter how much complaining/venting goes on.

I'll be there during Destination D and should have already reserved my WOC dinner thing...really...less than 2 months out and the schedule isn't up?

Sure they do.

Was your escort an Exec? Because when we've spoken with CM's sure they know about the DIS, some of them even post here (where's Albort been lately? I know he's posted but not as much as he used to. Glendalais is a WDW CM but started at DL and still posts here sometimes (sorry if butchered your user name spelling)) but when I've spoken to admins or suits walking the parks they have no idea what the Dis is......
