Come join me on my jouney! MagicalMom's journal (comments welcome)

Hey! Did you guys forget to tell me that you are not supposed to break in the new shoes by wearing them on the treadmill???? :confused3 :rotfl2: I guess I'll wear the old Walmart shoes tomorrow & then start breaking the new ones in. These blisters should heal up soon! :rotfl:

Well, I hopped on the scale today, still nothing. I feel like I am working so hard, but I am not losing a pound. :confused3 I understand the whole muscle weighing more than fat thing, I just don't like it. ;) I'm just hoping that soon the pounds will start falling off.

I know it's frustrating to work hard and feel like you have nothing to show for it. Hang in there. Other things...
How are your clothes feeling? This is a good indicator that changes are happening. You can also try taking measurements.
How much water do you drink/day? I've heard increasing intake really helps. Might be worth a try.

Well, I had a melt down today. It started off good.

b: whole wheat english muffin w/ peanut butter
l: Chicken noodle soup
s: 100 cal. peanut butter granola bar
s: raison bread w/ butter

45 minute walk
20 minutes on tread mill
10 minutes stepper
5 minutes waist whittler thingy

then dinner: small cheese steak & fries!

I am so, so upset with myself. Why on earth did I do that. My thinking at the time was that wether I eat the sub or not the scale probably won't move. Now I'm just so mad at myself.

Tomorrow will be another better day. :)

I have been there SO many times! It took 2.5 months for me to see any type of movement on the scale. It is so important to put the bad day behind you and move on. You can't change the past, so don't dwell on it! Just tell yourself that you will remember how crummy you felt when you splurged the next time you face temptation like that. Besides you got a workout in, which is GOOD! :cool1:

Maybe you should try tweaking something in your diet. Are you checking your portion sizes? Counting calories? That is what finally worked for me - I was eating WAY more calories than I thought because my portions were too large!

Whatever you do, DON'T GIVE UP! Stick with it and that scale will be moving in no time. Don't let it get you down! :goodvibes

Just keep up the good work. Sometimes it takes a while for the scale to catch up with all the exercise and you may have to wait a few weeks to see results. But clothes being looser?? That's the best.

You're doing great. Have a good weekend. :sunny:

Hang in there, you CAN do this. I agree with the comment about counting calories or looking at portion sizes. Another idea would be to look at fat grams.

Seems like a lot to think about. You will find what works best for you. :flower:

Down 2 lbs!!! Woo Hoo! Scale read 178 this weekend!!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: I am going to go buy my own scale on the way home form the gym today. I just hope I don't get too obsessed & weigh myself all day long!

Congratulations on seeing that major movement on the scale! WhoooHooo!! :cheer2:

Keep up the great work and have an awesome day! Have fun scale shopping, too! :teeth:

Yay!!!! :cool1:  :cool1:  Congrats on the loss!!!

As for the scale, take it from me, a self-created scale addict - only weigh yourself once a day, in the morning after going to the bathroom and with no clothes on. Use that as your base weight. Don't get sucked into weighing yourself multiple times per day because it can vary up to 4-5 lbs and you will go insane. Trust me, I speak from experience!

You are doing great, more lbs will be lost in no time, keep it up! :teeth:

I'm down one more pound!!! Can't wait until I can get my 5lb clippie!!!

Yeah for you on the loss!! You're doing a great job!!

Congrats on that scale finally moving. I've been in a lunge lately and mine has been moving the wrong direction, then the right direction, then the wrong direction - I wish it would just make up it's mind!!!! Hang in there - sounds like it's finally starting to work for you.

Keep on
Chris

Thanks for the encouragement everyone! :goodvibes I didn't make it to the gym for the last couple of days. Feeling a bit guilty over that. I did manage to walk & use the stepper at home. I'd really like to have an AB lounger. I might have to look into those.

The kids went trick or treating at Walmart tonight. I did pretty good. I only ate one hershey kiss. Mmmmmmm, been a long time since I had chocolate. I'll probably have to have a slice of my son's Birthday cake tomorrow night too! :teeth: I can't spoil his party now can I? :rotfl2:

Well, DS9 had 10th Bday party tonight. He doesn't turn 10 until Tueaday. So, of course I had to have some cake. I only managed to work out for about 25 minutes today because DH got the kids off to school & let me oversleep! It felt great but put me behind for the rest of the day. Wouldn't have been s0o bad if I overslept for just 1/2 an hour or so, but I overslept by HOURS. Really, HOURS! :earseek:

I have to work 12 hours Sat & 12 more on Sunday so I probably won't get too much exercise in. Tomorrow we are having a hospital wide feast. So, after the party I had to make an eclaire cake. I keep tellingmyself that it will probably taste terrible so that I won't be tempted to taste it tomorrow! :rotfl:

The worst part of the day was getting dressed for the party. I tried on a pair of last years jeans. Nope, too tight. Then another pair, nope too tight. I guess I gained a bit over the summer when i was relaxing my big rear into those shorts. UGH! I guess I'll just have to keep working harder huh?

Sounds like you have a super hubby to let you sleep in. Sorry it was longer than you wanted but when our bodies need the sleep they tend to take advantage of the opportunities presented.

Good luck at the party. Can you share that delicious sounding eclair cake recipe?

I'm feeling a bit yucky this week & haven't accomplished much. I did join the Chrsitmas exercise challenge & the Chrsitmas weight loss challenge, so I better get moving. I am hoping to lose 10 lbs by Christmas. I am currently 177 & hope to be 167 by then, that would be great!!!

Tomorrow I hope to catch up on everyone's journals! :teeth:

I hope you start feeling better soon. I was right there last week with just a feeling of blech, nothing in particular just everything.
