The Disneyland Resort has just announced the details of our Summer Nightastic! special event to be held from 12 June to 23 August.

http://www.disneylandnews.com/article_display.cfm?article_id=407

Guests will be invited to come celebrate the Magic of the summer night with us at Disneyland Park and Disney's California Adventure Park with a whole range of new entertainment.

For starters, Fantasmic! will be coming back, and better than ever! Watch as Maleficent transfroms into a new 40-foot long, fire-breathing dragon! In addition, Ursula will be introducing the audience to her pet eels, Flotsam and Jetsam, who will burst unto the scene in a spectacular way.

A new fireworks show, Magical, will be debuting. Tinker Bell will continue to be your host for this celebration in the sky, but Dumbo will also be joining her as they showcase a wide variety of Disney characters in the skies over Disneyland Park.

At Disney's California Adventure Park, Disney's Electrical Parade will be returning with some new additions. Join Tinker Bell in her new balloon float as she leads the parade through the Park. All the floats have been upgraded with just an extra layer of Pixie Dust, and Snow White and Pinocchio will be rejoining this magical procession after several year's abesence.

At the Tomorrowland Terrace, a proud Disneyland Park tradition has been revived with the new TLT Dance Club. Come on over and join live bands and DJs from local Southern Californian radio stations as you dance the night away.

And, finally, Tinker Bell and her friends have been working very hard, and as a result Pixie Hollow will be fully decked out for this magical celebration, with a whole range of new nighttime effects throughout the area.

:faint:

Woo! How exciting! This was the April 24th announcement we were waiting for!

We'll be there early August!

:thumbsup2

Welcome to summer at DLR: Fantasmic, Parade (ok, Street Party), Fireworks, and ELP.

Can't wait to see Flotsam and Jetsam!

I will be there with Belles on!! August 19th will be my starting day :)

Noooo :sad1: why does it all only go upto aug 23rd? does that mean none of that will be shown after then? no fireworks, no fantasmic? surely not! i'll be so disapointed if i dont see the fireworks :(

:cheer2::dance3::yay: :woohoo::banana::cool1::thumbsup2
I'm so happy that I booked this week to go. :woohoo::banana::cool1::thumbsup2

I'm so sad :sad1: for those that won't get to see it because they are there the week before. We almost booked the previous week due to cheaper airfare, but thank goodness DH Birthday is June 12. :yay::dance3::cheer2:banana:

They'll probably change to weekends only after Aug 23, so if you're there over the weekend you'll still get to see it weather permitting.

We will be there! Glad we decided to wait until the end of June. We usually skip all the fireworks and parades and stuff, but we will be sure to see these! I will be watching for people's opinions on best spots to watch it. Might even have to get special Fantasmic seating. Not sure yet.

For me, EP won't be the same cuz I heard that the circus unit is going to be taken out and Dumbo is my favorite part of the parade!!! I'm going to miss him so much!!! I love you Dumbo! :lovestruc

So are you thrilled about Dumbo going to Disneyland fireworks show? :)

Glendalais, thanks for this awesome update! It's kind of weird that almost everything they're promoting is just an improved version of things that have already been in the park...but the way they're playing up the dragon, it sounds like Fantasmic is going to be even more amazing.

I'm looking forward to seeing everything! Less than 2 months! pirate:

This is great news! Is the Electrical Parade at Disneyland or in Ca. Adventure? I loved that as a child. :yay:

The Electrical Parade is in Disney's California Adventure Park (DCA). It only runs during specific times of the year - such as summer!

Thanks...I figured it was still there. We went in 2007 and I missed it...guess I was mostly in Disneyland. :confused3

"Dear lntsmom;
We're so glad to hear that you booked a Disneyland vaction with us! It seems that the planning video you requested did the trick! Too bad you booked 6 months ahead of time, assuming that just because Memorial Day weekend has always been the start of our summer entertainment schedule it would be again this year. Here are all the wonderful things you won't get to see! Think of this as the special first-week-of-June buy-6-get-3 plan!
Sincerely,
The Disneyland Marketing Department"

Sounds exciting! Looking forward to the new additions to Fantasmic! and I'm starting to get excited about the new fireworks show with Dumbo. I know that some of my cousins are going to LOVE the dance club atmosphere in Tomorrowland (they're teens who will love a chance to do something non-kiddie at the end of the day).

EDIT:
Found a detailed description of the fireworks show on the OC Register's "Around The Park" blog:
"At 9:25, the skies above Disneyland will light up with a brand new fireworks show this summer.
“We are going to use our fireworks as actors,” Vice President of Parades and Spectaculars Steve Davison said. The fireworks show will be organized in scenes, each depicting the different types of magic that Disney offers.
Music for the show, a medley of classic Disney tunes, will be composed by Greg Smith, who has also scored “Wishes” at Walt Disney World. Eden Espinosa, known for her work as Elphaba in “Wicked” will be the featured soloist.
The show will open after huge fanfare with a scene in Neverland based on “Peter Pan”, celebrating the magic of children. In this scene, Tinker Bell will fly across the sky to the song of “Second Star to the Right.” This will be followed by a lively scene based on Pleasure Island from “Pinocchio.”
“The fireworks are going to feel like a dancing calliope coming to life before your eyes - very childlike, very fun,” Davison said.
A big chunk of the show will come from a Mary Poppins scene, honoring the magic of imagination, followed by a Dumbo scene. In addition to Tinker Bell making her traditional flight around the castle, Dumbo the Flying Elephant will also share some of the spotlight.
“He’s actually going to fly over the castle,” Davison said. “He’s fully articulated, he will wink, he can kick his little legs.” In this scene celebrating the magic of a mother’s love, Dumbo will make his debut flying over Disneyland, surely touching the hearts of many mothers at the same time. “I’m going to be crying,” he added.
The first big finale features Disney princesses. “A fantastic fanfare leads you into ‘A Dream is A Wish Your Heart Makes,” Davison explained. “From there you start to see the comets dance to ‘Beauty and the Beast.’ Then it hits the pinnacle, where you here the voices of the three good fairies - Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather.”
In natural fairy fashion, they will have a friendly duel over whether to make Princess Aurora’s dress (or in this case the color of the fireworks) blue or pink, which culminates in a blast of half shell fireworks to fill the sky with an explosion of color.
“Magical” will conclude with yet another finale, featuring Espinosa, majestic music, and another flight made by Tinker Bell. Naturally, a profusion of fireworks, from quintessential golden waterfalls to massive comets will culminate in the show’s grand finale."

It sounds like a great way to replace "Remember...Dreams Come True," especially since it has TWO finales.:wizard: I'll be sure to bring tissues for the Dumbo part. :lovestruc

Soooooo excited! This all starts on the 12th of June and I get there on the 13th! Perfect timing! :cool1: Can't wait to be there already!:scared: June is just so far away...............................
