My morning local news had a promo that Comcast, the largest U.S. Cable company has bid to buy DISNEY!!!!

OMG!! My only consolation is that perhaps they will replace Michael Eisner with Roy Disney!!

Anyone else hear this news?

Wishing everyone a "magical" day!

what i saw said they went public because Eisner wouldnt have any discussions with them
interesting
I wonder if this will affect the board meeting coming up and Im sure roy will use this to his advantage

DH and I seriously considering attending the Roy Disney meeting in Philadelphia at the Loews Hotel in March.

Wishing everyone a "magical" day!

Comcast touts itself as a family friendly, professional organization when they move into your town...then you learn that the fees go steadily up while the service goes down. Disney would never be the same.

If this happened (which it won't), I would NEVER be able to go to WDW or have anything to do with Disney...Comcast is better known by most people as Comcrap or Compost...their service is so subpar it's not even laughable.

I heard that on the news here this morning too, but I hope it isn't true!

i have comcast and i have had customer service issues and I only got them in December
I dont know enough about them as a company as a whole to know if they be good or not but it is interedting
the timing of the announcement

You can view the letter from Comcast to Michael Eisner at the SaveDisney.com website for those interested.

I saw this on Good Morning America this morning. This would be a DISASTER. You could kiss Disney goodbye if Comcast takes over.

They have no customer service ethic--what they have is contempt for their customers. I could write pages about the hellish experiences I have had with them. In short, I paid my bill early one month (because we were leaving for WDW). They cashed the check, then harrassed and threatened me for SIX MONTHS saying I did not pay the bill. Dozens of phone calls, faxes, letters and emails from me plus my bank sending them a copy of the check they cashed three times and still they refused to admit their mistake.

I even wrote to their President in Philadelphia. You would not believe the sarcastic and nasty reply I got from one of their VPs.

Everything about Comcast stinks and I wish they would go out of business. How dare they try to take over Disney!

Well, Comcast is known for poor customer service and gouging customers for "lesser" services.. ie, Comcast basic cable more expensinve than my second tier Directv

Why Comcast? Why not any other company?

Just saw this come up on Yahoo you people are quick...
"In a surprise move, cable TV giant Comcast Corp. proposed early Wednesday to buy Walt Disney Co., the iconic media and entertainment powerhouse that owns the ABC and ESPN television networks, movie studios and theme parks, for stock valued at about $54 billion. "
 :(

Ok, by reading the money link on cnn.com, I realized a few things.

First, Comcast is persuing Disney. After careful reading of the document, I read that Mr. Comcast (or whoever it was) mentions that Mr. Eisner was unwilling to do so.

If if comes to this, a very big IF, it would be like huge entertainment conglomerate...ie AOL Time Warner, or such.

It would be terrible if this sale went through.

A lot of people are blaiming Michael Eisner, but it was he who told Comcast to take a flying leap. I know I'm going to get slammed, but this has been brought on by Roy Disney and his people. They are the ones that have caused the rift in the board, that has now given Comcast an opportunity to buy Disney. Institutional investors view things differently then the rest of us. They want the biggest return for their money, they don't care as much about the caompany as we do.

VOICE are concern over this. like sould we write to Disney, should we write to Comcast.. Is there anything we can do:confused:  :scared1:
